coolest hangar ever

Turns out it doesn't fare well against gravity cannons with warheads. Who would have thought?

That front entrance reminds me a little of my Battleships front hangar :).

Yes, this ship is full of flaws, and with the current strength of small ship rocket pods, they will chew through this like its paper. But as said, early build - a lot of lessons learned since then (not to speak of alot of improvements made to the game since then).

As i spoke about in my previous post, i have been working on a build with the ship classes that would typicly escort a larger carrier type of ship. It is finally done and im quite happy with it.

Looks like a Wing Commander design of a hanger.
I'm worry about rhe hull thickness and the open front without a hanger door.

Yes - i have been learning alot since this was built. As previously stated, its an old build - one of my first in fact, made at a time where i was still learning about building stuff. This was my first proper attempt, but as you see by the design its actually only half finished. This was before the 64bit version so my build was stopped by the "lack of memory" issue.

I have made some ships of bigger size since then, among them a battleship with its own fighterbay, and a battlestar - inspired from the series.

Being bit sick of large builds, im currently working on smaller sized fleet support ships of the current classes.

- Cruiser
- Destroyer
- Frigate

After all, a carrier rarely travels alone.

Hey Ulfgaar nice ships guess you enjoy designing carryer ships.
just wounder but are you gonna design a full scale carryer?
By that i mean the most effective carriers have atleast acouple dozen fighters.
Yours are nice just lacking the sized fleet and ship variety
For example
Anti Fighter Fighters.
Anti Capital Fighters.
Anti Station Bombers.

And yours lack in the defence to protect the ships.
It would be too easy for bullets or a rogue missle take take them out.
You gotta remember a carrier has only a handfull of jobs.
Carry the fighters.
Repair the fighters.
Protect the fighters.

The small ships can be flown, just not very well - it was more an build based on an idea and wasnt really seen properly through.

Its actually one of my first builds where i was still figuring stuff out - i've made several more properly builds later than this which are also on the workshop. Feel free to check them out.

I find it slightly ironic that this build of all was the one that got popular ;)
