By Oakley and 1 collaborators
Hello guys! Today I'll show you a big list of console commands, from spawning a companion cube to totally breaking the part of the Chapter 5 that Wheatley stabs you and GLaDOS in the elevator. (I tested that)

Fast Information
Commands marked with this (*) need sv_cheats turned to 1, so just open the console and write there sv_cheats 1 to use them. In Co-op you have to have cheats on to use any commands. Also sv_cheats disables stats and achievements, so it doesn't place your new record in challenge maps and you won't get achievements. Commands without the (*) are sv_cheats free, just open the console, type them and done! Also, sorry for bad english because im brazillian.
NEW Information
Yeah... forgot some things. The command killserver crashes your game and disconnects your partner (if in coop). It needs sv_cheats 1 (i think)

NOTE: The killserver command was added to The Misc Commands section in the update of 5/19/2020.

Getting the Console
To get the console, first open your game (obviously lol) then go to Settings. Then head to Keyboard/Mouse, and then find "Allow Developer Console." Then click enable next to it.

Then, just open a Singleplayer or Co-op server, press Esc and then whatever button is under Esc in your keyboard (that because there are keyboards with keys in different places, but the console opener key will always be under Esc.

Then, just type in one of the following commands:
Base-Command Explanation
This command is a bit hard to understand. Ent_create spawns things starting with ent_create in the next section. Some start with prop_dynamic_create or prop_physics_create. Ent_create is to spawn basic entities (mostly known as test elements) like cubes, buttons, gel, etc. Prop_dynamic_create can only create prop_dynamics, and you cant create any kind of prop_dynamic with ent_create. Prop_physics_create only creates only prop_physics.

(Julio is writing this) I might be able to help you understand this a bit better. "ent_create" spawns in things that are seen in multiple levels and areas, and you can find the entity name when doing ent_remove. You can always pick up ent_create spawns. "give" can spawn the exact same things as ent_create can, except it spawns it on your exact coordinate, which is why some command lists say that give weapon_portalgun is the command to give you the portal gun, when it is really give_portalgun. "npc_create" is also exactly like ent_create, except it only works with entities that start with npc, except Wheatley for whatever reason. "prop_physics_create" is similar to ent_create with the way it spawns things, but it's a bit different. Any prop_physics can be knocked over and moved around by bumping into it, however only some can be picked up. For example, defective turrets cannot be picked up, but bean cans can. (lol) So all prop_physics have physics, but they don't have the pick up ability. "prop_dynamic_create" is a different story. It spawns all of the non-moving static objects on the game. This is where you can get technical with spawning in things. For example, a prop_dynamic_create command is the only known way to spawn Space Core, which I discovered myself. Anyway, prop_dynamic_create spawns things that cannot be picked up or moved, which is weird considering the fact that the spawn for the Radio is a prop_dynamic. The Radio is meant to be a prop_physics. What. Anyway, that's the basic run-down of ent_create, give, prop_dynamic_create, and prop_physics_create.
The Spawn Commands
In this section I'll show some spawn commands, these you use to create things.

'ent_create, prop_dynamic_create, prop_physics_create, and give' are the base commands for spawning things. You can't do nothing without those.

ent_create_portal_weighted_antique - Spawns Cave's cube. In a pre-recorded message.

ent_create_portal_companion_cube - These aren't made to be thrown at incinerators.

ent_create_portal_reflector_cube - Made to reflect lasers.

ent_create prop_monster_box - Made to walk on buttons, but refuse to.

ent_create npc_portal_turret_floor - The pale, spherical things filled with bullets.

ent_create prop_rocket_tripwire - This isn't a rocket turret.

ent_create npc_personality_core - He's actually in space.

ent_create npc_security_camera - Spawns a security camera that's mounted.

ent_create weapon_portalgun - The gun that you use the entire game. (give spawns it right in your hand) (lol give actually spawns it on your directly on your coordinate, so you pick it up right away)

ent_create prop_laser_catcher - I dont know why you want to spawn that, but ok. Thats the command to do the thing.

ent_create env_portal_laser - These are the deadly lasers that are locked in a room with a test subject.

ent_create prop_laser_relay - Catch lasers letting they pass through this thing.

ent_create prop_tractor_beam - The Excursion Funnels.

ent_create projected_wall_entity - The thing that emits from the Light Bridge Emitter.

ent_create trigger_catapult - Creates a catapult trigger (these they use in faith plates, dont comes with the plate) (as far as i know, you cant create trigger_catapults, but dont tell him!!! -s u b l i m e) (i did read this - GKGamerYT) (OH NO)

ent_create prop_testchamber_door - Creates a chamber door

ent_create prop_under_button - Creates an antique pedestal button (cave generation ones)

prop_physics_create props/security_camera - spawns a security camera that you can pick up immediately

prop_physics_create npcs/turret/turret_boxed - spawns a turret box
The Misc Commands
This section will show u the commands you use to play, modify something or do some action.

kill - The best way to die.

kill blue/orange - Kills your coop partner. Better don't do that.

ent_remove - Removes the thing your crosshair is pointing to.

ent_remove_all entityname - Entityname refers to the item, write for example ent_remove_all prop_weighted_cube. It'll remove all storage cubes of the map.

noclip - Removes clip of the player, allowing you to fly trough walls. (*)

god - Immortality. (*)

notarget - The turrets won't shoot you. (*)

host_timescale 0.25 - 1/4 the game speed, so u'll be a snail compared to the normal game time. (*)

host_timescale 0.50 - 1/2 of the game speed, then u'll walk half slower than normal game time. (*)

host_timescale 0.75 - 3/4 of the game speed. Almost the same speed the things were with (*)

host_timescale 1.0 - The normal game time. (*)

host_timescale (a number bigger than 1.0) You will be faster than normal game time.

sv_portal_placement_never_fail 1 - Allows you to place portals everywhere. Except on small surfaces!

mat_fullbright 1 - Disables shadows, allowing you to see even the darkest text.

sv_cheats 1 - Use this to be allowed to use all commands. See Fast Information section to know more.

thirdperson - See your character. (*)

firstperson - See only your portal gun again. (*)

sv_gravity number - Changes the gravity of the server. (*)

give_portalgun - Gives you the one-portal device.

upgrade_portalgun - Gives you the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device.

upgrade_potatogun - Stab the POTATO.

impulse 100 - Gives you a flashlight. (*)

impulse 200 - Removes your portal gun model, making you shoot without your gun. (*)

changelevel <mapname> - Mapname refers to the name of the map you want to load, so for example: you want to load the Portal Stories Mel map st_a2_once_upon. (this doesn't work in portal 1, portal 2, twtm and aperture tag. Only in portal stories mel) Well. Then just write in console changelevel st_a2_once_upon. (ONLY WORKS IN MAIN MENU, IN-GAME ITS BUGGED) (*)

map <mapname> Works the same changelevel, but doesn't requires sv_cheats turned to 1.

killserver - Crashes your game :P

pause - Unpauses your game (idk why you want to use this)

removeallpaint - Removes all gel of the map (involves all four types)

explode - Does the same thing that kill command does.

crash - Crashes.

ent_remove_all prop_portal - Removes all portals of the map.

setmodel <entity name> - Changes your player's model to the entity you choose (only works with prop_dynamics so be careful, otherwise it'll crash the game)

buddha - Same as god but you can take damage

change_portalgun_linkage_id # - # means number from 0 to 3. This command allows you to place up to 2 portals without erasing others. So place 2 with 0, then change to 1 and place 2 more. Change to 2 and 2 more, 3 and two more and done! You can place 8 portals in the maximum quantity with this command. Also, it lags your whole game a lot, so better use next command to save your life because you will lag and feel you will disconnect.

quit - Quits to menu. (obviously if you use it in menu it'll crash) (correction: quits the game, not to the menu. basically the same thing as crash)

showconsole - USELESS but it... opens the console.

hideconsole - A N O T H E R U S E L E S S command. It hides the console.

+remote_view - Toggles permanently partner view (Tab key normally) on, until you write

-remote_view - Disables the +remove_view command.

snd_playsounds <sound file name> - Plays the sound file you typed in.

connect <ipv4> - Connects to a game server.
The ent_fire Commands
These are commands that activate something or do some weird action with entities.
(all credit to @s u b l i m e for these, he just let me place them in my guide)

ent_fire !picker skin # - changes the skin of the object you are looking at (who uses hammer will understand this better)
ent_fire !picker ignite - sets the object you are looking at on fire (cool to play with Wheatley)
ent_fire !picker enable - enables things like the excursion funnel and light bridge emitters (useful to cheat)
ent_fire !picker disable - disables the things you enabled (useful in Pull the Rug chamber)
ent_fire <entity name here> - will pick up the entity which is specified (better press E...) i t i s u s e f u l f o r t h e e n t i t y "prop_glados_core" b e c a u s e y o u c a n t p i c k i t u p w i t h E n o o b
ent_fire !picker open - opens things like doors (complete cheat)
ent_fire !picker close - closes the objects you opened (cool also)
ent_fire !picker disablecollision - disables the collision of the object (no collisions :P)
ent_fire !picker color r/g/b - changes the color of the object you are looking at (choose only one letter) why not?
ent_fire @chapter_title_text - puts "chapter_title" on your screen for a second (this one is my favorite)
ent_fire @chapter_subtitle_text - puts "chapter_subtitle" on your screen for a second (cool too)
ent_fire !picker addoutput "spawnflags 512" - the turret you are looking at shoots cameras (funny)
ent_fire prop_portal fizzle - removes portals (same as ent_remove_all prop_portal) [but its not lame like that :steamsad: oof that doesnt work what]
The Puzzlemaker Commands
This section is dedicated to the commands you can only use in PeTI (Puzzlemaker), also known as in-game editor.

WARNING: THIS SECTION IS A WIP.

puzzlemaker_export <mapname> - Exports your test with the name you choose (this makes PeTI to hammer)
The Broken Commands
This section is dedicated to all the ent_create commands that exist, but do not work. So this is basically a command graveyard. This is the reason these commands are not in spawns. Minus one but until it's realized, it will stay ;) Some of these may crash your game, most won't. Enjoy.

ent_create generic_actor - Tries to spawn the entity that allows GLaDOS to talk. Instead, it crashes the game.

ent_create npc_wheatley_boss - Tries to spawn Wheatley in GLaDOS' body, however there is no model, so it doesn't work.

ent_create npc_rocket_turret - Tries to spawn a Rocket Turret. However, it just spawns a small light. This command does function properly in Portal 1, though.

ent_create player - Tries to spawn a real player. In the game, you are classified as a player. So trying to create another version of you, isn't going to work too well. Instead, it will remove you and crash your game. Wow. What a savage that player you added is.

ent_create func_movelinear - Tries to spawn a Crusher, but you can't create entities that start with func.

ent_create func_weight_button - Tries to spawn a button function? A floor button because it has "weight" in the title? Not entirely sure. All I know is that you can't create entities that start with func.

ent_create func_physbox - Tries to spawn some sort of entity, but it can be multiple different entities, so it doesn't have a model set, so it just crashes the game. Also, you still can't create entites that start with func.

ent_create func_portal_bumper - Tries to spawn... I don't know... but you can't create entities that start with func.

ent_create func_brush - Tries to spawn a panel top or something else that a func_brush is, but it doesn't have model specified so you can't spawn it. Again, you can't create entities that start with func.

ent_create viewmodel - Tries to spawn the portal gun model that you hold in your hand, which is different than weapon_portalgun. However, picking up weapon_portalgun will give you the viewmodel, so I guess it's not that bad. You can create the viewmodel with the command "prop_dynamic_create weapons/v_portalgun" which makes this a spawnable thing, just not the ent_create way.

ent_create trigger_once - Tries to spawn a trigger, but doesn't because there is nothing attached to this trigger, so it can't spawn.

ent_create trigger_multiple - Tries to spawn a multi-trigger, but doesn't because it needs two things attached, and it has none.

ent_create trigger_catapult - Tries to spawn a trigger that sends you flying, but it doesn't have a position to fling you to set, so it can't spawn.

ent_create env_fade - Tries to spawn an entity that fades your screen when you look at it, but it has no fade set so it can't spawn.

ent_create env_sprite - Tries to spawn a sprite, but there is no sprite specified, so it can't.

npc_create npc_personality_core - Tries to spawn Wheatley, but you can't with npc_create, so WHAT

ch_createjeep - Tries to spawn the buggy from Half-Life, but that model doesn't exist in the game.

ch_createairboat - Tries to spawn the air boat from Half-Life, but that model doesn't exist in the game.
Custom Buttons/Keys
You can use keybinds to add new keys. For example: I created a button to close all my portals by typing in the console:

bind "r" "ent_remove_all prop_portal"

This removes all portals in SP and in COOP it removes your partner's portals too.
To create buttons, as I showed in the example, type:

bind "key" "command"

To unbind the keys, type in "unbindall". (THIS WILL ALSO UNBIND NORMAL BINDS, LIKE WASD AND SPACEBAR) To solve the problem listed, unbind the keys, then go to Settings > Keyboard/Mouse > Edit Keys > Click in Set Default.

If you dont unbind, the command will always be there (so you wont need to everytime go and paste the command into the console). It will automatically save and will work also in all 3 Portal 2 Community Mods (Aperture Tag, Thinking With Time Machine and Portal Stories: Mel).
Fun with sv_cheats command
The sv_cheats command can turn cheats on or off... but it can also display weird texts! To do this follow these steps:

1: Enable developer console (see Getting the Console section)
2: Type in sv_cheats 1
3: Type in sv_cheats <a random text>

This will display your text when you return to game! It will appear yellow-painted, written like that:

Server cvar: sv_cheats turned to <text>

An interesting note: When you do any weird texts, you can't use cheats. When you do sv_cheats 1, you can do cheats. sv_cheats 2.. allows you to use cheats. Does sv_cheats 2 have undiscovered features? Hmm..
Fun with ent_remove command
ent_remove removes what you are looking at, so you can have some fun with it! Here are a bunch of random things that you can remove that makes the game more fun!

The error seen out of bounds in every level - This is interesting, as it tells you the entity name is "generic_actor." Strange.

Your co-op partner - Crashes your partner's game and leaves you to enjoy the level you left off at. Because your game doesn't crash for some reason. Better don't do that. (yes pls - GKGamerYT)

Turrets - When they are shooting you, it's fun to show them who's boss! It's most funny when you get your friend to do it in co-op, as it looks weird and funny.

GLaDOS - She is trying to kill you, so how about you kill her instead!

Wheatley - Better kill him before he kills you!

Wheatley's Monitor Model - He's located out of bounds, and removing he will cause all monitors to look like 'off' but they aren't, just Wheatley was removed and so no face in the monitor.
Random Stuff You Can Do
This is another section that doesn't need to exist made by Julio.

So I like to mess around with the console. And discover random things. So, here are some things that you can do to.. oh I don't know, do things?

Note: The black bar things are spoilers for the game, so read at your own risk!

Doing ent_remove_all env_fade in the final battle. I love this. If you do it, that part where Wheatley gets sucked into space. The part where GLaDOS gets dragged like 2 feet by an arm that came out of nowhere. The part where you fade into the section with Atlas and P-Body. If you do that command before that part, you will eventually see this:

Why do I love this so much? I don't know.

MORE THINGS COMING SOON MAYBE
Things to NOT do because it will crash the game
1 - Type ent_remove_all weapon_portalgun and then impulse 200. That happened with me today when i was trying to take a screenshot to use in a map. This crashes because impulse 200 removes the portal gun texture. While it still exists when you remove all weapon_portalgun, it technically doesn't exist anymore. The game has no idea what to do with itself, so it's just like "aight ima head out" and crashes. Instead, do impulse 200 FIRST and then remove the portal gun. It works better (I think)

2 - Typing killserver into the console. It crashes the game in singleplayer and in multiplayer shuts down the server and disconnects your partner.

3 - Typing ent_remove_all prop_physics; ent_remove_all prop_dynamic. It removes all entities except testing elements (cubes, buttons, turrets, portal gun, and others).

4 - Setting sv_gravity to 9999999999999999999999999 and sv_portal_placement_never_fail 1 on and then jumping from one portal to another, one in the ceiling and the other in the floor. I tested this and it CRASHES FULLY AND COMPLETELY THE WHOLE THING AND BUGS YOUR SOUND. I tested this with a friend messing up with console.

5 - Doing ent_remove_all player. I'm pretty sure this doesn't crash in single-player, you just get stuck in one spot and have to force-quit. In co-op, it crashes. Definitely. Or at least looking at your partner and doing ent_remove. This is amazing. Your partner's game crashes but you stay in the server and you can mess around! It's great!

6 - Spawning 1,158,925,738,759,823,475 cubes. This will crash your game and give you the error "no free edicts." Also pretty sure that this works with Turrets and Wheatley.
How To Totally Break The Core Transfer
If you don't know the map name, it is 'sp_a2_core' You can use the changelevel or map commands (see Misc Commands) to get there. Or you could do it legit. Either way works.

Step 1 - Press the stalemate button.

Step 2 - Use noclip and leave the elevator.

Step 3 - Remove Wheatley with ent_remove. (see misc commands)

Step 4 - Use ent_remove_all ambient_generic.

Step 5 - Type in the console ent_remove_all env_fade.

Step 6 - Type ent_remove_all trigger_once.

Step 7 - Type ent_remove_all trigger_multiple.

Step 8 - Dont do nothing. You will be alone in the core room after a time, and won't be thrown in the chapter 6 cinematic.

I tested this and it totally works.
How To Break The Cinematic Of GLaDOS' Awakening
So if you have played Portal 2, you would know that when you wake up GLaDOS, you are thrown into this little cinematic where you can't do anything. You can't get out and explore when GLaDOS is awake. Well, if you want to know how, well this will tell you how!

Step 1 - Enable the console.

Step 2 - Bind noclip to a key, I personally use the "v" key.

Step 3 - Wake up GLaDOS.

Step 4 - Wait for GLaDOS to pick you up with the claw.

Step 5 - Right when you are dropping into the incinerator and your cursor appears on screen, press the key you binded noclip to. You are now able to escape being dropped into the incinerator, and can now explore the area freely.
