What is this guide?
Until we've added explanations in-game for these systems, traits and so on we'll share the information here so you know how they work.

Ranged Weapons
Short & Long range
A weapon has a Long and Short range. The Short range is half the distance of the Long range.
If we use a Scrap Gun as an example which has 18 Range, the weapons Short range is 1-9 spaces while the Long range is 10-18.
If a gun for example has -10% to-hit at Long range any shot fired at a target between 10-18 spaces away will suffer -10% to hit.

Overwatch
When a unit enters Overwatch they will fire upon the first enemy unit that enters their Overwatch cone (range).
The Overwatch range is the weapons Short range (half their max range).
You can change the direction of your Overwatch cone by right clicking on an empty space. This will change the direction your unit is facing.
Overwatch shoots has a -10% chance to hit
Weapon Traits
This is a work in progress on all weapon traits we have in the game at the moment. List isnt complete but will be updated continuesly

Unwieldy
The weapons Short and Overwatch range is 1/4th of the weapons Long Range. These weapons generally also have minus to-hit at short range.

Rend
Increases Bleed chance.

Blunt
The weapon can't cause Bleed.

Push back
A successful hit will knock back the target one space.

Burst
The weapon can't use "Aim", but 25% of all missed shots will be converted to hits that deal 1/3 of the weapons normal damage.

Poisoned
Has a chance to inflict Poison.

Bigger Mag
Increases ammo capacity by 1

Accurate
increased hitchance by 10%

Brutal
Increased damage by 1

Impact
Increased crit damage by 1

Heal
Heals the user 1 hp every attack

Inspirational
Bigger chance on getting inspired after successful attacks
Status effects
Pinned
Inflicted when hit by a ranged attack. Reduces AP by 1 for 1 turn. (Disables Overwatch?)

Bleed
Will cause the target to lose 1HP each turn. Lasts 3 turns. Cured with Bandages.

Poison
Will cause the target to lose 1HP each turn. Lasts 4 turns. Cured with Antidote.

Morale broken
Reduces the units Movement, Ranged and Melee skills by 1 for the rest of the battle. They can also “Panic” when getting hit, which will cause them to flee a short distance.

about Burst
Afaik it´s still possible to do Aimed Shots with Burst weapons atm

@Drayco - that´s a good one - took me a while to figure it out myself.

Balanced
Reduces the penalty for Dual wielding to zero - now here´s the thing. It only comes to play in the secondary melee slot !! You do not need two "Balanced" weapons to Dual wield at max accuracy. Just make sure the "Balanced" weapon is in the second (right) slot.
