Introduction
The dungeons of Grimrock are filled with nasty monsters and cruel enemies, how will you survive the seemingly endless encounters? The answer is dancing.

Dancing, yes.
Monsters are uncivilized and don't understand the concept, or even the simplest of dance moves.
If you were ever forced to learn the Box-Step as a kid, you are in luck!
The Box-Step
This particular dance is called the Foxtrot Box-Step, it's simple to learn, but requires charm and confidence in your body language to fully master.

In order to apply the dance in Legend of Grimrock, you must alter it slightly, in such a way that you can see your dance partner at all times. We'll call this, the "Grim-Step".
Demonstration
Here you may see the Grim-Step in action:
Advanced Dance Maneuvers
  • In order to successfully step the Grimrock, you need enough room, 2x2 square space is enough for a short dance.
  • Do not attempt the dance in a corridor, or other crammed areas as you may risk bumping into something and getting your toes stepped on by your dance partner.
  • Sometimes, it can be hard to ask a partner to join you for a dance, they may be shy, or claim they are clumsy. Simply lure them out on the dance floor, and take initative.
  • Occasionally, you will face multiple dance partners, these situation can get tricky, but with a big enough dance floor, anything is possible. Improvise!
Conclusion
Hopefully, this guide has been able to help you. If not, take a couple of dancing lessons.
Now you can conquer almost any situation you find yourself in when playing Legend of Grimrock!

Necessary because enemies attack once per second while you take a long time to raise your dagger/spell/axe/fist again.

Bravo! Apparently I was trying too hard. Your instructions will make it much easier to take the lead one on one.

Absolutly magnificat! You made my day!
Unfortunately it seems my dance partners always lack endurance. After a few spins they all collapse on the floor. :rip:
