Through the Early Access we are constantly developing Summer Islands as you know. This results in new changes of the software architecture. We change an algorithm here or a variable there and it could be that old savegames don't work anymore.
Of course we always proceed with a little strategy when developing ;D and always try to make changes compatible with old savegames (we have an extra savegamemanagement).
But also with us it comes to bugs from time to time and therefore it can happen that an old savegame doesn't work. Here we would like to present you 2 possibilities what you should do in such a situation.

We have unlocked the betas in Steam. That means you can simply continue playing on the old version. There you don't have the newest features, but you have a working version in which all features work in the respective version. You have to right click on the properties button at Summer Islands and then select the version under Betas in the drop down menu. See pictures
