1: Selling equipment is a brilliant way to make money, especially late-game when your costs are soaring and battles are big. The loot (even if you give some away to your troops for exp) from even a medium sized battle will net you serious money, you can sell it anywhere, it's like 90% profit (once you count the cost of getting it via battle) and it's very lightweight meaning you can keep lots of it around. I routinely empty the coffers of big cities just by selling loot from battles.
2: Prisoners - regular prisoners don't net much unless you hand them in as a quest, but it can add up. However, capturing nobles and ransoming them is also fairly lucrative. If you don't want to cheat, then skip this but if you don't care then just have all of your captive nobles in a city you own, move them from the dungeon to your party, sell them in the tavern district - they will appear back in your dungeon. Repeat for VERY fast cash.
just go around buying stuff, buy a clan leaders daughter and his kingdom while at it.
the setup for it is painfull these days tho, and alot of profit could go into buying overpriced weapons to smelt for parts too.
To explain how workshops work (from what I know)
the daily gold change for workshops is calculated by
Math.Min(1000, itemPrice) * count;
which means that the min value of either 1k or the items price times the produced count is the daily change.
So by pushing the item price, ull be able to generate more income for your workshops.
This should be easier for basic workshops (like just beer for the brewery etc)
Did some tests in various cities, each city on a new savegame for around 300-500days each.
Most cities seem to settle around 150 - 250 gold / day after around 250 days
Some cities varying a lot more than others (obv this depends on the products [beer] price in the town)
Some other towns were just completely terrible (such as Lycaron) where the avg gold / day was around 50 - 60.
Keep in mind, those values are on a completely new savegame without any player influence.
Now, u can influence the profit yourself by manipulating the products price.
Pushed the price of beer in Lycaron (just buy it out for a few days after production finished) for a few days.
Then the gold/day slowly climbed up to average 200/day aswell with a deviation of around +-70.
After around 100 days it went back to around 20-60g/day.
Imma do some tests with workshop and get a few 100 samples. Will update later
Will check to add some more stuff later on perhaps.
If somethings heavily outdated, lmk
