Description



This mod is not Iron Man compatible!



When I first encountered deactivated gateways and saw their very cool activation animation I was certain, that building gateways would look just as cool. I expected that the player would build deactivated gateways and then activate them, just as you do with already existing gateways. The reality however was disappointing in that all we got was a lousy platform and then immediately the gateway get build from it. The cool activation animation gone to waste and we got stuck with something very dull looking. If you feel the same way, then this Mod is for you!



  • Gateways are now built into the deactivated state instead of a build platform.
  • In the next build step, Gateways are being activated exactly the same way visually as the deactivated Gateways spawned on the galaxy map on game start.
  • Unfinished Gateways show up with a red icon on the galaxy map.

No actual stats were changed, this is only a visual and QoL overhaul of gateways for your convenience.



Any mod that also overwrites the 05_gateways.txt file. Enjoy!

@General TennobI: I suppose not, since the change in this mod is purely visual. You still build the same old entities but they look like a disabled gateway. Yet, they are not the same entity.

Could this be used with Paragons to force spawn Skrand, since he only spawns out of disabled gateways?

I wonder if you can make the it possible to turn on and "off" the gate way, with combination of hyperlane creation/destroying mod, kill connections with the rest of the galaxy and once the crisis passed (or they wait until I open access to my territory), re-open "one" gateway and wage war!

this mod does exactly what mine does, but it's shinier so I commented out my files and use this now :)

@Peter34: The latest update Mod uses 3.5.6 Stellaris update changes to remove incomplete Gateways from the Outliner now.
