Things I wish I knew myself when I started playing the game; stuff I found while playing; some of them, too late.
Spoilers have been marked accordingly.

General random tips
  • Save often (F5). Quick saves will not be overwritten - (F9 for Quickload);

  • You can run! The default button for that is <CAPSLOCK>

  • Use items in both hands; The left hand can be used on cooldown for pistols, dirty tricks and throwables. Get that filled as quick as possible, will come in handy;

  • Get a shovel early game and invest in treasure maps whenever you see one. There is always profit in there;

  • Consider re-binding the controls, they're less intuitive imo. (e.g. inventory on <TAB>, running on <SHIFT> etc.)

  • Get a pickaxe early game so you can mine every ore you see, found mostly inside caves;

  • Playing as a thief is also a great way in getting gold, there are a lot of locked chests and NPCs houses to break in;

  • If you're playing as a thief, get the monkey so you can grab the extra loot when raiding temples; used to go into those little cracks/ holes in the wall, including a legendary item in the storehouse of pirate city from Antigua

  • Travel with Patty as much as you can, especially early game. Explore and kill monsters because she will leave the group unexpectedly some times;

  • Make sure you invest skill points in the right type of equipment. There are multiple kinds so certain skills will be useless for your character. (e.g. slashing vs piercing swords)

  • Grab all the items while exploring, there's no weight limit in how much you can carry;

  • Use beds to replenish health when possible. They can be found through the wilderness in camps and cities; Keep the potions or consumables during fights;

  • Having trouble fighting multiple opponents at a time? Consider investing in the parrot/ dirty tricks which can stun enemies!

  • Learn the kick skill if you're having trouble killing giant crabs. It can be useful when fighting other enemies, too. Used by pressing <SPACE> wthen having a weapon drawn and learnt from Blake, an NPC from Steelbeard's crew in early game. More details HERE.[guides.gamepressure.com]

  • Followers have certain abilities when they accompany you into battle. They're also great for mitigating some of the damage; Full list of crew members HERE.[guides.gamepressure.com]

  • Invest time for legendary items searching, they can greatly improve your skills (as passives, no need to wear them); Quests can be started by reading books, mainly placed in key areas (e.g. important NPC's house); List and locations HERE.[risen.fandom.com]

  • Traders have no gold limit, so you can sell how many items you want; For a better experience, you might wanna use the same trader if you ever want to buy-back an item;

  • Make sure you save before key moments if you want to take a different path and not start a new game; e.g. choosing between joining pirates/ inquisition

  • Invest a point into sword crafting if you find fragments of unique weapons, they're worth it (as long as they're on par with your character's skills). List and locations HERE.[risen.fandom.com]
Known bugs workarounds
  • Try traveling solo or get the kill blow if having a hard time unlocking kill counts achievements.

  • Win 10 drinking contests achievement can be obtained if you win 10 at a time (doesn't matter how many you've won before. Same goes for Pet cemetery.

  • Try equipping boots if unable to enter certain buildings while sneaking; if not possible, try rolling without alerting anyone or shake the camera upwards with the mouse.

  • There is an unofficial patch that can help a little bit, it can be found HERE.

When you're getting older and time gets even more precious, I'm starting to agree

I have so many tips about the game but I'm afraid my guide won't get any views.

What about moving/facing the sides slightly or you won't parry 100% of all attacks?
