How to place a M2 50 cal. Machine Gun

In this Guide I'll show you how to place a M2 50 cal. Machine Gun wherever you want ;)

Step 1: How to open the console
How to open the console

Step 1: Start your game

Step 2: Go to options

Step 3: Go to Keyboard & Mouse

Step 4: Search for "Allow Developer Console" and enable it

Step 5: Quit the game

Step 6: Open Steam Library, rightclick Left 4 Dead 2 and select properties

Step 7: Go to "Set launch options" and type in -console










Step 8: Start the game (There should appear the console now)

How to bind the console to a key:

Step 9: Type bind "F8" "toggleconsole" in the console and press enter
(You don't need to bind F8, take the key you want :P)
Step 2: How to enable cheats
Step 1: Start a campaign
Step 2: Open the console (with your hotkey)
Step 3: Type sv_cheats 1 and press enter


Cheats are now enabled

IMPORTANT!
You need to be host, to enable the cheats!
Step 3: How to place a Turret
Normally you have to type a lot of commands, but I found a way to do this a lot easier :P

Step 1: Type prop_dynamic_create w_models/weapons/50cal.mdl in the console
Now there spawns the 50 cal. but this is only the model (You can't use it!)

Step 2: Type cl_precacheinfo modelprecache in the console
Now there is a large List of Stuff that is on the map.
In the last line is the model of our Machine Gun.
On the left of the line is a number (for example 754)

Step 3: Copy the number on the left side of the line of our 50 cal.

Step 4: Aim at the Model of the Machine Gun and type ent_remove in the console to remove the Model (Optional)

Step 5: Paste this commands in the console (just copy and paste the whole thing):

ent_create prop_minigun; ent_setname 50cal; ent_fire 50cal addoutput "modelindex XXX"; ent_fire 50cal addoutput "MaxYaw 180.00"; ent_fire 50cal addoutput "MaxPitch 40.00"; ent_fire 50cal addoutput "MinPitch -30.00"

Step 6: Replace the number (for example 754) with the XXX in the command ent_fire 50cal addoutput "modelindex XXX"

Step 7: Press enter ;) (now there should spawn a fully functional M2 50 cal. Machine Gun)

Step 8 (OPTIONAL): Type ent_rotate "X" in the console
replace X with the degree, for example "90" (for 90°)

IMPORTANT!
If you rotated the Machine Gun you have to use it from the side it spawned originally!

IMPORTANT (2)!
You have to type " " when it's in a command or It won't work!
