Taking screenshots
A guide to taking good screenshots is like taking good photos.
In the case of Space Engineers however you don't have to worry about the camera or focus. You've been equipped with a state of the art high resolution camera mounted to your visor.

But there are a few considerations. Composition and framing are important.

Ask yourself, what is the focus of your image? Is it a structure? Is it action?
When you are taking an image to impress upon people how good your ship is, you shouldn't fill most of the image with space. Space isn't your focus. If we wanted images of space, we would be browsing the NASA image gallery.

Getting the framing right however can be hard, which is why Space Engineers has a video setting in it, allowing you to change the Field of View, from 40° to 90°, allowing you to take wide angled shots.
Open your menu, and click into "Options", and "Video". From there you can adjust the "Field of View".

90° field of view

Last, empty your hands and turn off the HUD, and turn off the crosshair.
The crosshair can be turned off in the Game menu.

Sometimes a great image can be ruined simply by the excess of overlays.
Unless you are setting out to impress us with the mass of your ship, or the number of thrusters it has got, turn it off!
We don't need to see what tool you are using, or the build orientation helper, or your toolset.
Simply press "0" (zero), and Tab.
Uploading screenshots
If you haven't done so, make sure to set up a screenshot shortcut key in your Steam overlay.

When you have found something you want to share, take a screen shot!

When you exit Space Engineers, you are normally provided with a dialog, showing you all the screen shots you have taken during that gaming session.
If it does not appear, or you want to open it later, you can access it from the Steam menu, "View", "Screenshots"

Select a photo you with to upload, and add a comment. Then press "upload".
Sharing in the community threads
Within the Steam UI, you can simply hover your mouse over your Profile name. Your profile appears at the top of the Steam UI, next to "COMMUNITY".
Then click on "Content". By default, you should be presented with "Screenshots" you have shared onto an image wall.

A recommended alternative is to open your Steam screenshots in a browser. This will allow you to quickly copy multiple images into a post.
The following URL is a common representation.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/ScreamingAngels/screenshots/

Click on an image you want to share.
You will be shown a small version of the screenshot, with a url above it in the form "https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles..."
Highlight and copy this.
If you accidently click on it, it's okay. You'll be presented a separate window, with the same information, but and easier to highlight and copy url.
This url you can share directly in the community threads.

In a community discussion, simply paste the url into the discussion.
When you finalize your post, Steam will expand this into a thumbnail of the image or video, along with a short description.

Happy posting!

On the Steam menu, got to "View", "Screenshots".
In the Screenshow Uploader Dialog, in the game selection choose "Space Engineers", and then press the Butotn "SHOW ON DISK".

If you are using Space Engineers "F4" to take screen shots, they will be in the folder:

There is a bug currently with the thumbnail preview image that gets uploaded with your Steam Workshop item causing it to be black.
If you autosave, or save on exit, the thumbnail will be black.
You need to manually save, and then exit without saving, for your thumbnail preview to be created correctly.
You need only publish your world again to the Workshop!
