Warning: Investments are never 100% Save, you can lose your whole investment.

Note: Of course there is no 100% right way to invest, but this is (in my opinion) a good structured way to invest.
What do I need for a CS:GO Investment
For a succesfull CS:GO Investment you need:
  • Money:
    • See next point: "Set the right amount for your Investment"

  • Time:
    • A good Investment is not made for just 1 week. An investment should go for 0,5-4+ years. So if you invest now, you should not payout in the next year.
    • You also should frequently check your investment how it works, how the prices are changing etc.

  • Knowlegde
    • Start with a low investment, train yourself, learn and see. To get a good investor you need a lot of experiences

  • CS:GO activity and CS:GO knowledge
    • To make a good investment you should know in what you are investing. So in my opinion you should have at least about ~200 hours of Playtime.
Set the right amount for your Investment
Before we Invest in some CS:GO cases you need to set the right amount for your Investment.

To find out the right amount for your Investment you should follow these rules:
  • Never use money, you don't have.
  • It should not hurt too much if you loose all of your money.
  • I personally invest about 10%-20% of my available money each month.
  • If this is your first Investment you should start with a low investment (Maybe like 10 €)

The preparation
So now we ready to start our preparation.

The documentation

In my opinion you should start a documentation. I would recommend MS Excel. You should write down: Which case, the price you paid, the amount of cases you bought and where do you stored them (in the case you have more storage units.)

The analyse: Find the right CS:GO cases
After the preparation, we can now start to search for CS:GO cases we would like to invest. To find a good case you should follow these advices:
  • Focus on the low price cases. The lower the price of the case, the higher your profit can be. I would recommend not to pay more than 0,10€ / Case. (To find these cases go simply to the Steam Community Market and take the filter "container" and sort them by price)

  • Check out the possible Items. (I would recommend csgostash[csgostash.com]or if you know all skins by their name you can also use the normal Steam Community Market.). Your case should have good Knives (f.e. Shaddows Daggers are bad knives), (For the CS:GO noobs: In each CS:GO case are differents knives in.) good reds and good pinks, etc. So all in all: next to the knives the higher tier skins shouldn't be worthless.

  • It's a long research to find a case you like to invest. In my opinion you are good with Danger Zone Cases or Prisma Cases (Stood 22.05.2020).
But it's your own choice and there is no right or wrong. :D

So know we hopefully found one (or more) case you want to buy.

Note: I would recommend to buy as much differnet cases which fit to these conditions, because as more different cases you have, that much more secure your investment is
Find the right price/ Read the Community Market to buy your case.
If you want to buy your Case there are 2 Options.

Option 1: You buy the Cases instantly for a high price to have them instantly.

Option 2: You try to read the Community Market to buy them as low as possible.

Of course we try option 2 because we dont have money to waste.
To do this you have to watch the Median Sale Prices, the recent activity and the Buy- and Sellorders.

f.e. this is the Buy- and Sellorders table of the Danger Zone Case.

So what can we see: there are only 1280 Sellorders for 0,08€ and 52.748 Buyorders for 0,07€. If we move more down to the Median Sale Prices and hover over the individual hours we can see how many cases have been sold in the respective hour.

Take the Information that round about 3,5k cases have been sold in the last hour in your mind.

Take now a look at the recent activity.
Now take a look on the recent activity for a few minutes and calculate round about how many people sell cases on the price you want f.e. 0,07€. If you count in 10 Minutes f.e. only 50 cases for 0,07€, that would be 300 cases in a hour for 0,07€. If you set this in rato to the 3,5k sold cases it would be probably unsuccessful to start a Buyorder at 0,07€.

As Guide value I would recommend at least 30% of the sells on your Buyorder in the recent activity.

Especially if you start a buyorder you should check -at least- every day how the performance of your case is doing. Each day your case can turn its performance. Especially if there are upcomming Updates, Patches, Economic crises (Covid-19), etc.

Now we found our price. We are creating the buyorders. We are also checking -at least- every day how the case is performing.

Note: If you take too long, for waiting on your lower buyorder the case can rising again its price. That's the reason why you should check out your buyorder every day.
Storing the cases
That's the most easy part:
If you bought your cases and they are in your inventory I would recommend to store them in Storage Units. Give the Storage Units a name you can assign. However, don't forget to update your (Excel-) documentation.
When should I sell the cases?
When should you sell your cases?:
First of all: It is your Choice. But I would recommend to sell if these points apply
  • if the case don't gets dropped anymore
    List of current case drops

  • your case is on such a price level that the percentage growth is lower than 20-25%/ Year

  • you have a new case you want invest to. (Exept you want a full payout)

Note: This Link is may not be up to date.
Note 2: Maybe it is sometimes hard not to sell your cases if they lose in their worth, but you have to stay strong and should not sell them.
