Rebirth of an Empire

Description
This mod REPLACES all Imperial armour and weapons with models imported from The Witcher II and Regent Armoury.

AS THIS IS A REPLACER, THE FILES WILL WORK BEST WITH A NEW GAME.

Changelog:

v1.02 - Fixed General's gauntlets and cuirass not being temper-able.
v1.01 - Fixed invisible wrists on Imperial Light armour (added forearms to ARMA declaration)
v1.00 - Initial release

I never felt that the romanesque-look of the Imperial Legion sat well with their background and style, given what we see in Solitude. Legion soldiers also never fight as a unit, but individually, rendering the point of looking like Roman legionaries moot. This mod changes the appearance of Imperial equipment to be in better keeping with this new style.

Imperial soldiers in Oblivion had full plate armour as standard issue, and very handy spiked shields. The Empire, however, has now fallen on hard times. Officers of the Fourth Legion still have access to plate, but the common soldiery has been reduced to maille and a good helmet, although some have half plate:

Imperial light armour - now a maille shirt with red jerkin, sallet helmet, leather boots, kite shield.
Imperial studded armour - now half plate armour, sallet helmet and kite shield.
Imperial armour - now full plate armour, barbute helmet and spiked shield.
Penitus armour - blackened full plate and barbute helmet.

Imperial swords - now a longsword, based on the Armsman's Sword from Regent Armoury (used with permission)

GUARDS OF THE HOLD NOW OUT!

Replaces Guard armours to be in keeping with the more modern surroundings and to reflect different hold wealth. This addresses the issue of guard uniforms being affected by "The Stormcloak Rebellion".

Comments:

Does NOT require any DLC.

As it is only a replacer, this mod is compatible with all mods which affect the Imperial faction (e.g. More War in the Wild), save for other replacers.

Some people have had trouble with the Armour Disguises mod. Either they are not compatible or this mod should be LOWER in your load order.

**IF GENERAL TULLIUS IS NAKED**
This is due to a bug in Tullius' character sheet. Try putting the mod HIGHER in your load order. A new game should also solve this issue.

Some people have reported issues with lighting mods - the replacer will still work function, however, and has been thoroughly tested with True Vision ENB.

If textures appear black, don't fear - exiting and restarting Skyrim will solve this. The error might be linked to the above, or be an issue with modified textures interacting with unmodified normal maps. Either way, easy fix : )

**IMPORTANT**

Due to a bug in the game, General Tullius' armour declarations are NOT valid for the player - gaunltlets, boots and cuirass all have to be defined as the same item to get him to wear them. Killing and taking General Tullius' armour will crash the game if you try to put it on. Instead, a spare set (declared correctly) can be found in Castle Dour, in the small gated off area of the guard room, along with a set of standard plate.

Equipment has been made slightly stronger and more expensive to compensate for its more robust construction. Imperial soldiers now fare slightly better in combat.

Half plate armour INCLUDES BOOTS. This has been included in the CK and will work with matching set perks. Attempting to put more boots on will unequip the half plate. The half plate armour rating is higher to compensate.

Visors do not raise or lower, but this might be included in a later version.

I loved this mod in SSE, but this version seems to leave my Imperial guards with half vanilla armour, witcher helmets and occasional cuirasses, then missing feet and hands... any fix? Tried moving priority and have no other imperial replacers or armour changers and started new game each time...

Has anybody figured out a way to make this work with Skyrim Special Edition?

I loved the mod, it works very well. what happened with me was probably more my mistake than the mod, I was arriving at the battle of whiterun, but there was a bug in which Legate Cipius did not work properly he just stayed with those guards dialogues. I thought it was this mod and deactivated it to test it, it wasn't, so I researched the internet and found a solution, the problem was when I solved the bug and activated this mod again it got in trouble because the armor doesn't appear correctly, they work as normal matures with the same status only appear visually as they should but do not work properly. I tried to change the load order of the mods but didn't fix the problem, it only got worse, and even going back to old saves they still remain

i need help if its your end or me the boots are still steel boots to me is that a bug or is it a mod overlaping it?

For those who seem to have only the torso armor not changing, it's caused by another mod that shares the same armor design or use, like the Dawnguard plate armor. I deactivated my DG plate armor mod and it seem to have fixed that problem.
