The hull of the Tiger (the top right enemy unit) was facing towards the bottom right. The screenshot does not show this.

This flanking maneuver was especially risky because I had to get close to the riflemen in front of me, giving them a chance to attack. With some bad luck, this could have ended poorly. Maybe I should have retreated instead.
