Introduction
It's actually possible to play Brick Rigs as well as many other windows-only steam games on linux! For this guide, I'll be using Manjaro KDE, an Arch-based linux, but most distros (Ubuntu/Debian, Fedora, Arch, etc) should work just fine for this guide.

Keep in mind this is in no way officially supported by Fluppi393, so you're on your own with any issues you may encounter.
Video Drivers
Before doing anything else, go into your hardware settings and make sure your video drivers are up to date.

In my case, they're up to date, but in case they aren't you should update to the latest proprietary driver if you use an Nvidia GPU (AMD cards work fine with the default mesa driver on video-linux.)
Enabling Steam Play
Go into Steam's settings, navigate to Steam Play, and enable the following settings.
  • Enable Steam Play for supported titles
  • Enable steam play for all other titles

After checking both these boxes, wait for the latest version of Proton (SteamPlay) to finish downloading.
Playing Brick Rigs.
After all of that's done, after downloading Brick Rigs, you should boot up to the main menu and be able to play the game! Here's a screenshot just to prove this actually works.

Bonus: Custom Thumbnails
If you want to upload things with custom thumbnails, or simply just back up your saves, They're gonna be in a different location than they are on Windows.

The location of the folder on Linux is....
/home/yourusername/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/552100/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/BrickRigs/Saved

On the 1.0 version of Brick Rigs, this folder will instead be....
/home/yourusername/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/552100/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/BrickRigs/SavedRemastered

I suggest making a shortcut in your file manager to save yourself headaches if you upload creations often.
