Gamemodes description.
When you enter online (or in offline practice), you can vote which gamemode you want to play after the end of a match.

Demo: You can playback a saved demo you got from a match, with all the movement, chat talks, etc that happened. Demos can be saved by typing /getdemo after ending a match, be in online multiplayer, or offline.

Deathmatch: The most basic mode of playing, just frag others to get points, the player, or team that has the most, wins after the match ends. Teams is on by default

Capture the Flag: Get the enemy team's flag, and bring to your base to score.

Defend and Control: Get close to defense points, wait until it turns into your team's color, and steal other team points. And don't forget that they can do the same to yours !

Bomber-ball: a ball spawns at the middle of the map (usually, depends on where the map creator places them), you have to get it, and throw at the enemy base/goal to score.
The thing is, you have 15 seconds before it explodes, so you need to throw it to teammates to reset the time counter.

Race: Test your parkour skills and prove you can get the best time in these more intricate designed maps (there isn't really that much of them, but it will have more eventually)!
Mutators, and what they do.
Now, we will know what are mutators, and their purpose.
Mutators are rules modified that heavily influence the gameplay, for example, FFA-Survivor makes it so there is no teams, and the round ends when there is only one survivor, or, Vampire-Resize, which the more health you have, you are taller, and the less health, smaller, but you can recover health by hitting and killing enemies.

General mutator list :

FFA: Free for all, no teams, every one by himself.

Coop: Human team versus the Bot team, and they are more accurate than normal. Every human that joins, equals 2 more bots for the Bot team.

Instagib: Self-explanatory, one hit kill, rifle only. But you can still kill with a kick on the face if you manage to get close enough.

Medieval: Swords only.

Kaboom: Infinite grenades and mines only!

Duel: 1 versus 1 mutator that makes players take turns facing eachother, the player that manages to kill the oponent, stays for the next round.

Survivor: The last standing player wins the round, best played with more people on, in medium-sized maps.If the round doesn't end, after a minute, a ROCKET spawns to help with the issue.Best used along with Hard mutator.

Classic: No loadouts, you have to grab the weapons on the ground, like the good old days.

Onslaught: Enemy actors spawn on the map, and each type does something different. Rollers like to explode in your face, Turrets stay put in place (they don't have a new model of their own... yet), Grunts serve as fodder for more points. Depends on the map creator which type will spawn.

Vampire: You can take health from others by shooting them.

Resize: The lower your health, the smaller is your size.

Hard: No radar and no health regeneration. Best used combined with duel and survivor.

Arena: You spawn with every weapon!

Gladiator: A mutator where you only fight using the Claws, and the lower your health, the further you are sent flying when hit. Best combined with Survivor or Duel, and Hard mutator, and should be played on very small maps with lots of death material to throw your enemies in.

Old School: Only frags counts as points, and there is no assist/multiplier/headshot extra points for the overall score.
Gamemode specific mutators.
There are some mutators that only appear in certain gamemodes, which these are:

For Capture the flag:

Quick: Your flag is instantly recovered upon touching it.

Defend: You have to defend the flag until the timer runs out, for it to come back to your base.

Protect: No flag capping, you just have to get the enemy flag, try to escape and evade them, ultil the flag is captured after 15~ seconds.

For Defend and control:

Quick: Bases are taken faster.

King: Only one base in the entire map, both teams fight for the control of it.

For Bomber-ball:

Hold: No bases, you have to get the bomber-ball and hold it to score points, and you reset the explosion counter by or throwing it around, or killing enemies (this is the best solution).

Hold has a exception, that you can activate it, to then be able to play it on FFA instead of teams, which makes it even more chaotic.

Basket: Instead of just going into the enemy base and scoring, you have to throw the ball for it to score.

Assault: Teams take turns defending and attacking.

For Race:

Lapped: Each time you finish the race, you have a "lap" scored, instead of being by time.

Endurance: No checkpoints, you have to do the entire thing in one go. Die, and you are back to the beginning.

Gauntlet: Teams take turns running the gauntlet.
Most used gamemode+mutator combinations.
Deathmatch+FFA+Survival+Hard, or Deathmatch+FFA+Duel+Hard: Mostly used when people really want to see who can stay on top for longer, and to decide who is the best.

Vampire+Resize+Kaboom: When you want to play a ridiculous match where everyone gets bigger and smaller out of nowhere because of the dozens of grenades and mines used everywhere.

Deathmatch+Gladiator+FFA+Survivor+Hard: Basically this becomes Smash Bros in first person.

Capture the flag+Quick: When you don't feel like waiting for the flag to come back to base.

Deathmatch+Onslaught+Survivor+Hard: Depending on the map, this can become a interesting combination.

Extra fun custom modes.
Duck Hunt: Make a map that has clip separating the Omega and Alpha spawns, make it so one of the teams has pushers/jumppads every where, and give rifle to the other. Play on Coop for maximum effect.

Bowling: Make a map that has the two teams separated by a wall (so they can't hurt eachother), and a platform in the distance with a bunch of Turret actors set to have "Claw" as a weapon, and play this in Kaboom.

I will update later with more custom mode concepts/ideas.
Finishing thoughts.
Red Eclipse is a game that has been in development for more than a decade, and had mutators added, being taken out in favor of others (RIP jetpack mutator), and is always evolving as time goes.

There is a massive way to combine each mutator and gamemode together, and if you add the fact you can CREATE NEW MAPS with others, it can go a long way for never ending fun.

I will update the guide with newer versions, if they have more mutators/gamemodes included.

Until then, have fun and enjoy the game!
