Weather Be Nicer

Description
Adds clear weather to every planet that has weather effects configured (modded ones too) with a 50% chance.

I find the new weather effects exciting, but most of them are very harsh and too frequent. This mod reduces the frequency of any weather effects by adding a "clear" weather effect to any planet that already has weather effects configured. It also fixes a current bug in the EarthLike planet's definition file for one of the Heave Rain effects.

Settings
In the world storage folder (withing the save folder, in Storage\Weather Be Nice_Vsi there is a WeatherSettings.xml where you can change the following settings:

- DisableLightningDamage - set to true to reduce all lightning damage to zero
- ClearWeatherChance - set the chance for a clear weath (percent e.g. 50 for 50%)
- ClearWeatherMinLength - minimum duration for clear weather
- ClearWeatherMaxLength - maximum duration for clear weather

I know the mod is out of date but I'm throwing this out there for others looking at it:
I'm getting the same thing as Katarina, the surface remains extremely dark during your 'Clear' weather, as if the sun is not at all reaching it. Using Admin Tools to "remove weather" and restore the vanilla clear weather allows the sunlight to come through like it's supposed to, so it's something specific to this mod's weather

@Katarina, I haven't checked this mod in a while but it shouldn't be the case. This mod just adds a weather with everything set to its base values (special effects to 0, sun to 100%, etc.) and sets it with some frequency depending on the frequencies of the other weather effects set on the planet.

@Absolarix, the .xml config file was in a folder named "2147374699.sbm_Vsi" in my game save directory. I think it named the folder by the mod ID number instead of its name. Hope that helps someone...

is it just me or does the weather of this mod make it so that it looks like that its raining but without the rain particles? its cloudy too meaning there is no sunshine visually comming through and everything outside looks pretty dark

Trying to run this mod on a server, the config file is not showing up in the instances folder with Torch.

It should be done by Keen this way.
Hopefully modders fix what they messed up.
Thanks a lot for this mod.

I tested it, it works perfectly :)

I haven't checked the new planet, but theoretically if weather is enabled and configured, it should work.

does this still work on pertram?

I am not sure it does. From what I can see, lightning is still generated the same way. Maybe you're thinking about explosion radius. If that is zero, there is indeed no lightning generated, however DisableLightningDamage here only sets the actual damage of the explosion to zero.
