The Batter

Description
The Batter comes from a game called OFF by Mortis Ghost. He is a stoic, blunt humanoid (but not a human) who seeks to eliminate spectres across the land and purify the world. Here's some Q & A.

Q: Why does he look so.. *off*?
A: The Batter, even in his own game, gave off a presence like he was out of place. That's why I decided to make him look as different as possible while still retaining Rivals style.

Q: What are those circle things he uses in his attacks?
A: Those are his Add-Ons; Alpha, Omega, and Epsilon, named after the greek letters. They join the Batter on his quest and seem to be connected to him spiritually. They seem have no mind of their own.

Q: What does down b do?
A: Figure it out.

Q: What's with the sounds?
A: The sounds are taken straight from the game when hitting someone or being hit, with the exception of the Frisk skin. Getting hit on that alt produces the Undertale hit sound effect.

Q: Why are there different themes?
A: Batter's victory themes change for almost every alt. Batter's default theme is 'Pepper Steak' by Alias Conrad Coldwood. It was the main battle theme of Off. The Zacharie alt's battle theme is 'Hip 2-2' by Coldwood also, a song that never made it into the final cut of the game. The Judge's theme is 'She is Dancing Till Her Head Explodes', another track by ACC. It was used as the main battle theme for the fangame 'HOME', in which you play as The Judge. The Queen's victory theme is 'Queen of Spades', also from 'HOME'. It served as the queen's battle theme on time, but has since been updated. The Frisk, Ness, and Gameboy skins all have remixes of 'Pepper Steak', in soundfonts of their source material, respectively.

Q: What about the text during battle?
A: On the side of the screen, during every battle in Off, were the words 'BATTLE TIME'. This now appears above the Batter's hud during the opening countdown. Afterwards, it will display 'Purification in progress...' in homage to another common quote during battles. If you are fighting against a CPU Batter, it will instead display 'Auto Enabled', as in Off, you could activate 'Auto', which lets the computer take the reigns to fight.

Q: What are his skins based on?
A: The first alt on The Batter is based off of Zacharie, the game's comical merchant, followed by The Judge, another entity who appears in OFF (you can see him in the Trum & Alto codec). Next is The Queen, one of the final bosses in Off. I also have alts based on Frisk from Undertale, and Ness from Earthbound. Next is a cool Rights skin, but it's rarer to see a character *without* one. After that is an obligatory Early Access skin, with a changed outline color to match, and an Abyss skin, too. Next is a skin inspired by Batter's appearance in battle, black and white. After that is a see-through Spectre skin, and then a color changing Rainbow skin.

Q: How do I play Batter?
A: Batter plays quite aggressively, and has a lot of mix up options. Here, we'll go through a rundown of his moves:
Jab- A basic 3 hit jab with considerable range. Can start combos if ended early.
Ftilt- The second hit only appears after the first connnects, so be sure not to whiff it. It has a lot of knockback for a tilt, and can kill at high percents.
Dtilt- Your basic combo starting dtilt. Works well in mix-ups.
Utilt- A nice anti-air or combo ender. Usually comes after dtilt.
FSrong- A ranged strong move with Alpha that has a lot of openings if missed. Sends upward at high percents.
Dstrong- A move that covers a lot of ground, with considerable lag. Can be used to read rolls.
Ustrong- A close hitbox, but lots of knockback. Combos well from dtilt.
Nair- A wide area move with good coverage onstage, but leaves you vulnerable to ranged attacks.
Fair- A shorter hitbox than most, but with a spike hitbox that is fairly easily hit.
Bair- Again, a shorter hitbox, but lots of offstage and onstage potential. Can be used mid-combo to mix up opponent's DI.
Dair- A small hitbox, but it combos into itself and fairly easy to hit. The first hit bounces you upwards.
Nspecial- Various things. Depending on what Add-On you had equipped at the start of the move, it does a different attack. Also switches to the next Add-On. Alpha- 'Expected Bracket' - This is a move that inflicts Poison in Off, and the same in Rivals. Omega- 'Radial Blur' - this move makes opponents heavier for easier combos, similar to Papyrus' side special. Epsilon- 'Cubist Tragedy' - A multi hitting attack with a stronger finish. All versions of Nspecial are good for edgeguarding.
Fspecial- Various, depending on the Add-On. The default, Alpha- 'Run with Courage' - A long range move where Batter spins his bat and swings. He is invincible on the spin animation. Omega- 'Run with Grace' - Batter does no hit, but goes farther, which can be used for recovery. He also has longer invincibility. Epsilon - 'Run with Dementia' - Batter goes practically nowhere, but does two consecutive hits.
Uspecial- Various. Alpha- 'Save First Base' - Batter does a swing upwards which sends him into the sky. Not a particularly powerful move, but good nonetheless. Omega- 'Save Second Base' - Batter goes farther in the air, but deals no damage this time. Epsilon- 'Save Third Base' - Batter does a much shorter swing upwards, but it is followed by a swing downwards which can spike opponents.
Dspecial- Homerun. Batter's signature move. This can be charged up to 4 times. 'Furious Homerun' - Batter's default down special. Not too strong, but can be used to read rolls or edgeguard. 'Special Homerun' - if you charge more, Batter does a stronger swing. 'Magic Homerun' - a swing even stronger still. Lots of kill potential. 'Ultimate Homerun.' - A devastating move. Batter's strongest attack. It takes a while to charge, but he can kill very early with this move.

Q: What about Batter's matchups?
A: Well, Batter excells against bigger and heavier characters. Fitting, seeing as most of the bosses in Off are bigger than The Batter is.
I'll leave some tips here for you: (Based on my personal experience)
Main cast: Usually pretty fair, depending on how skilled the opponent is, but struggles against Maybul and Orcane, both of which can quickly move about and put Batter in a bad situation.
Mollo: Batter can fairly consistently beat Mollo. Just get in close before the opponent gets a chance to breathe.
Guadua: While Batter destroys most heavyweights, Guadua's range can prove difficult. Try to parry, or wait for an opening. Be sure to move around quickly.
Kris: Kris has more range than Batter with a sword, but Batter can just outrange Kris with Add-Ons. Avoid moves with lots of endlag and try to stack effects with nspecial.
Acid Rainbows: A good Acid player can keep Batter on his toes with rainclouds, so be observant and keep your distance.
Trummel and Alto: One of Batter's worst matchups. As if one raincloud wasn't enough."
The Chosen One: Not too bad. Keep a safe distance with nair or fstrong and you should be alright.
Astra: If you can switch Add-Ons before she can switch her cards, try to use moves that cover a lot of distance and try not to go offstage much.
Sans: Somewhat close, but Batter definetely wins if you keep moving.
Papyrus: Though they can both make each other heavier, Pap is already pretty big. Batter takes the cake with frequent use of aerials and more oppurtunities for a homerun.
Bluey: Try not to get overwhelmed by projectiles, and keep close. Make use of nspecial's effects.
Kirby: I'm not really sure. Kirby is floaty enough to avoid a lot of attacks, but the ones that hit aren't good for him. Try to rack up percent as much as possible.
Chef: Chef's a little difficult, but try to keep your opponent guessing. Make use of all of Batter's moves.
Otto: Probably the most fun matchup for Batter. Use fair onstage to keep Otto down, and try to keep him from recovering with nair or an Add-On.
Well, that's the word count hit. Hope you have fun!

Hey I think mod ain't bad however I wanna make a few changes personally.

1. His Add-Ons

I feel like you need to make it so his Add-Ons appear aside him. However make it so only one of them appear. Like if you choose Alpha for example, then it would appear and the only one that appears. This can help it so you can see The Batter's attacks like his Neutral Special.

2. His Down Air

Honestly his Down Air looks OFF for someone like him. I feel like you should make his Down Air is The Batter striking downwards with his bat. Or with one of his Add-Ons.

Other than that the mod seems fine though it would nice for some of his animations to change like his running animation for exmaple.
