What is Morale?
Determines npc character events. Low morale allows characters to play certain events which affect other survivors or could lead to them leaving the camp or even turn hostile if they dislike a certain person enough.

Negative morale come from negative events which also increase dislike and disdain which in turn could lead them to turn hostile to the person in question.

Respect/like doesnt equal morale.

Morale has a decay of 1 which equals x days

You can replace demoralizing memories because their memory is limited. Though there exists a checkbox which seems to make certain memories permanent. Dont know how permanent it means.
Difference between morale and likeability
Morale is the limit cap on what characters are allowed to do. They cant initiate fights or events unless they've enough positive or negative morale.

Negative or positive Respect is needed to recruit characters. But if they've very low morale when recruited, chances are they'll leave once their respect returns to 0.
Memory
Events will leave a memory on a character, they affect morale and is limited.
If there are too many memories they'll eventually be replaced.
Memories can be forgotten overtime. Unknown how long they can keep memories.
Theory on the memories variables
[Event]
  • Refer to the memory gained
[Can forget]
  • Possibly determines if the memory can be replaced if the npc gained too many memories
  • Possibly forced to wait until the decay of 1 is over to be removed
[Can spread to]
  • the editor has 3 targets for where it can spread, all subject community, all object community, none
  • Subject community most propably refers to your own community where it can spread as a memory
  • Object community most propably refers to the community you've interacted with
  • None propably simply means it didnt spread to anyone else
[Target]
  • Has three targets, community, character, none
  • Character obviously refers to you
  • Community either refers to everyone on the target community or the community could be a target
  • None obviously refers to no one
[Good/Bad]
  • Is the approval / disapproval to another character
[Difficulty/Patheticness]
  • Is the respect / disrespect to another character
[like limit / respect limit]
  • Limit until the memory stops adding approval/respect
[Rule]
  • Possibly follow the event rule
  • It contains romantic, cannibal, normal
[Morale(Editor)]
  • Ingame stat that works independent from the approval/respect rating
  • I do not know if it contains a multiplicator or if it straight up adds points per event
  • Will update it overtime while testing, will remain unknown for now

Got all information from Editor -> Base Game -> Edit Memory
I have to check the major events which resolve around low morale.
Releasing guide early to make things easier on testing out the ingame morale stats.
I haven't ordered them as of now, i'm planning to order them based on how much morale they give.
Will update in the future.

Can forget how someone told them they love them, but can never forget that time when there was lack of closet space in the base

Nice guide. I hope Bob implements romance for the player-controlled character. I didn't know that disgusting food and drink are so serious.
