How to turn off ♥♥♥♥♥♥ texture filtering
By Subscribe to Cactus Malpractice
If the textures look blurry too you, then that means you have texture filtering applied. to turn it off, go into the console with ~ and type:

gl_texturemode GL_NEAREST

The textures should look crisp afterwards, if not pixelated. You may not like how it looks, as it really comes down to preference, but I'd advise giving it a try. IMO, the textures look way better this way, especially on lower resolutions.

Hope this helps.

It is doom but quake i think is part of doom. Well, Maybe a modified doom? I Dont know, But half-life is a modified Quake 3 which Doom has texture blurring, So does all quake versions.
