Check out this reddit thread for actual Panic Rooms. Meds & Beds for a few doctor colonists to hide in should your base get over-run.

They have little wealth in them to ensure the Raid AI will not waste time trying to break in.

It's actually a Death Stranding faction mod - I posted the link to them in another screenshot of this series.

Panic Room is a concept which exploits how AI Raiders work. A Raid's prime objective is to kill any hostile pawns & animals which they can path to. If no targets are available (either all down or not reachable) then they default to 'smash shit up' and kidnap. After several hours of smash, they will then leave, opting to steal any gold, silver and valuable base items nearby.

A panic room should ideally be many rock walls thick, at least 3, with multiple doors of granite. It should have medicine and some food for a day or so.

In this example I had to convert my stock room, since it was the only building made of stone. I had just enough time to double-door it which puts the AI off. It was still horribly risky though, since all my wealth was there which the AI can sense.

How do you build a panic room? What materials do you use generally, and what's the thickness of the walls and such? Also what mod is Void Out?

I've never tried the panic room strategy before but I'm so glad someone here recommended it to me.

Void Out were not even interested in stealing my worthless crap, they were just out for murder.

So they burned down my fields, destroyed the stores, my new fancy windmill and the guest quarter. Our inventory of gear and medicine is intact and the jungle biome is bountiful.
