@bvnshee after doing the lines, you can fill in areas as follow: press (and hold) alt. On each point where you can start/end, as well as all the places where lines cross each other, small red circles appear. Select one point which will be a 'corner' of the area you want filled. After pressing that (you can release the alt key now), you select all the other corner points for the area you want filled. After connecting back up to the first point, the area will be filled. By default it will be filled with lines, but you can also select a patern of crossing lines, as well as a solid (which I used for this). The filler, just like lines, will be white by default, but you can change the colour (for both lines as well as the filler). Just experiment with getting the colour you like (tip: for getting colours very close to the tram/bus marking like in the picture, I had to set the alpha quite a bit lower. But again, just experiment with getting the colour as you wish)

how do you get the center areas colored that are inside the lines and the different line formats at certain points when they intersect?
