Description
Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana and is a college city and industrial area. A quaint city of heavy traffic, heavy industry, college life, and southern beauty, it's the perfect town to disappoint your D.A.R.E Officer as a college student or employ yourself with the abundance of natural gas.

For Cities Skylines, this map is divided by the Mississippi River in the center: with the Port Allen area in the east, and Baton Rouge to the west; with its downtown area, Capitol Hill, and Louisiana State University. The map is very flat, with only a few variances of terrain with bayous, lakes, and slightly higher terrain around Highland and LSU.

Your start square is downtown Baton Rouge, featuring most of its street grid. Feel free to adjust it to your own needs if you'd like! I laid the roads and highways down with an overlay, I copied I-10 and its exits accordingly. As such, I highly recommend the Traffic Manager President Edition Mod to make the best use of the highways in downtown. Aside from the highways, there's many railways that pass through Baton Rouge, for those that like expansive rail yards and industrial areas and warehouses, you'll have a lot of fun working with the rail lines. I copied them with the overlay as well.

As it is a port city too, you have a ship connection that runs up and down the Mississippi. Water flows south. There are plane connections as well, and there's plenty of flat land if you want to build an expansive metropolitan airport.

All resources are available, with ore and an abundance of oil where the city's Exxon-Mobile Refinery would be. Port Allen has vast fields of farms, so you'll find all the fertile land east of the river where the terrain is much lower. For those with Sunset Harbor, the river flow produces a lot of salmon with the occasional flocks of anchovy.

I made this map with mods like Unlimited Outside Connections and Unlock 81 Tiles Mod in mind. While they're not actually required for the map, you get the most use out of all the connections and of all the map's space with these mods.

The Homecoming Map Theme was used in the screenshots, it's listed but not required. Temperate is the base theme, but feel free to use your own! Everything else listed is required. I made excessive use of the two way single track railroads as they were more realistic for the map, but there is double two way tracks for the loops.

I made this map mostly for myself, as such its not optimized for vanilla use. :S It's one of my early attempts at making maps, speak freely with criticism where necessary! Enjoy the map!

Sorry, but this is pretty much broken and I've been intending to redo the map altogether. I'm not sure for certain, but this map may actually require NEXT 2 to function, even though I don't remember actually using any networks from that mod.

Really looking forward to this map, but it keeps crashing my game constantly!

I just tried this map but for whatever reason it's broken for me, the roads are like transparent blue, random cliffs around, no water in the start tile, and i don't think there were any trees either. Nothing to suggest it was one of my mods either so idk :(
