Traps & Floors
Traps
Traps can be set off by dropping any item on them, an enemy walking on it, or the player stepping on it. Traps are randomly placed through out the map. The different kinds of traps are:

-Fire Trap: Deals damage.

-Poison Trap: Poisons you.

-Teleportation Trap: Teleports you to a random place on your current floor.

They look like this:

If there is a trap blocking your path and it teleports you to an earlier place in the dungeon you are not stuck. Simply drop an item on the trap to set it off, and continue into the dungeon.

Floors
The floors in Delver are all procedurally generated, minus the final floor. There are seven floors and the object is to get to the last floor, kill the Lich, and climb all the way back up. There are two Dungeon floors, two Cave floors, two Sewer floors, and the final Ruins floor.

Level Up!
You level up by getting XP, which can be done by killing enemies or buying the Skill Jar sold at shops. If enemies are killed by other means you will still gain their XP. On the first floor you recieve three XP for each enemy you kill, on the second floor you recieve four XP. This continues to rise for each floor you go to. Here is a list of the XP you need to level up to 20.

lvl 2 8 xp
lvl 3 32 xp
lvl 4 72 xp
lvl 5 128 xp
lvl 6 200 xp
lvl 7 288 xp
lvl 8 392 xp
lvl 9 512 xp
lvl 10 648 xp
lvl 11 800 xp
lvl 12 968 xp
lvl 13 1152 xp
lvl 14 1352 xp
lvl 15 1568 xp
lvl 16 1800 xp
lvl 17 2048 xp
lvl 18 2312 xp
lvl 19 2592 xp
lvl 20 2888 xp

Every time you level up you will be able to choose between one of three random stats to increase in.There are six stats to choose from:

Attack ATT. Increases the damage you do with melee and ranged weapons.

Speed SPD. Increases speed by one.

Health HP. Increases your maximum health.

Magic MGC. Increases amount of charges in wands.

Agility AGL. Faster movement when you charge your weapon.

Defense DEF. Raises your AC by one.

(You gain the same amount of experience from killing enemies on a floor,it's not mob specific.)
Shops & Gold
There are two shops at the beginning of the game, but you can't buy anything when you first start. First you have to earn some gold. To do that you have to play through the game as far as you can get and pick up gold along the way. When you die you will still have your gold. Here are the two shops.

Magician's Friend

In this shop, you can buy scrolls.

Joff's Supplies

In this shop, you can buy normal items such as
swords, bows, arrows, armor, and you can also buy a special item called Skill in a Jar.
Final Boss

There are multiple strategies for defeating the dreaded Lich. If you have lots of shield scrolls and high HP, try tanking it with a melee weapon. If you have lots of wands, slow him with an Ice wand and fire away. A good potion or two is really all you need for this fight.

After defeating him, pick up the orb and make your way all the way back up to the surface. This won't be easy, since skeletons will spawn around the dungeon during the escape.

Installing Mods (Windows)
These are directions on how to install files to your copy of Delver when you own it on Steam.

1. Download the mod to your computer. You will probably have to choose "Save File"

2. Go to your Games Library on Steam.

3. Right click on "Delver".

4. click on "Properties".

5. Go to "Local Files" page.

6. Hit "Browse Local Files".

7. Hit "Windows Explorer". It should be on your taskbar, it looks like a file.

8. Go to "Downloads".

9. Open up the mod file.

10. There will most likely be an "assets" folder. Move that into the same folder the "Delver.jar" file located.

11. The Mod or Texture pack will be ready next time you open the game. You can rename the assets file to remove the mod.

If this does not work, most mods will include a ReadMe file with specific instructions.

Update 4
Potions

The release of update #4 includes the option to explode potions, (activated by hitting them with a weapon), which can be used to affect monsters as well. They will also push anything within its radius, allowing for potion jumping.

Level System

The level up system has changed. Instead of having every stat readily available, it will randomly come up with three random stats for you to choose from.

Breakable doors/crates

Doors and crates are now destructible, and crates will hold loot. Some doors will give the message "Stuck" when you attempt to open them, you will have to destroy them in order to get through.

Instead of breaking the stuck doors, you can actually just keep hitting 'E' to unjam it. Sometimes it takes a second but it comes free.
