Here is this same map as a savegame if that's easier for you.

Important Notes - Read This Stuff

When you start a new game on this map while 81 tiles is enabled, you must save the game, quit, and reload it.

You only have to save and reload it once when you first start a new game, it will fix the issue permanently.

This is because when you start a new game all 81 tiles are already purchased and the game logic doesn't handle it correctly. It's an apparent side effect of the way I made the map in game and then used ModTools to open the save inside the map editor. The game renders all networks inside the main 25 tile area as if they were in unowned tiles. In other words, they're not fully rendered, zoning squares are hidden, details are missing, and the terrain under them is wonky. I know it's a mild annoyance but there's nothing I can do unless somebody figures out a mod to unpurchase tiles. On the plus side, it only happens the very first time a game is started and all subsequent loads do not have this problem.

All the required assets can be found here. They're not listed on this page but you need these. Without them the map will probably not even load, or at least will not load properly.

Unlimited Trees with the slider on 8 (max) is required to load this map. Without the mod being set correctly it will not work.

For best results play with 81 tiles and disable edge fog. Details follow rivers/roads and such right to the edges. There’s some cool stuff that happens to be in the outermost tiles and you don’t want them hidden in fog.

Rivers will occasionally see fluctuating water levels. It's from limitations of the game engine's water mechanics and how narrow the rivers had to be made to stay true to their real world counterparts. Because they're small by game standards I highly recommend using only inland water and sewage services like Block Services.

About
North Bend[en.wikipedia.org] sits at the feet of the Cascade Mountains 30 miles east of Seattle. It's known for being the real world setting of Twin Peaks. This map includes 1:1 scale terrain of North Bend and surrounding communities.

There are 2 million trees and 27k props.

Interstate 90 travels East/West across the map identical to the real version.

Rail lines are included mostly according to their historical routes. In the real world they have been decommissioned and turned into trails. The way they go through "downtown" is slightly different for the sake of connecting the lines.

The original height map came from Terrain Party. All of the infrastructure and waterways were drawn using the Image Overlay mod and images pulled from the Google Maps API. You can find the exact map I used here[i.ibb.co]. Google's map data isn't 100% accurate or 100% so I cross-referenced against satellite imagery to be as exact as possible while drawing roads. If you decide to use the overlay you should know that it's scale is as close as possible but still not exactly the same as a terrain.party heightmap, so it requires a bit of tweaking to line up correctly.

I couldn't do every single cool landmark in the area without several times the prop limit, but there's still a handful to find. Snoqualmie Falls, Mt Si Trail, Rattlesnake Ridge, just to name a few.

Mods & Visual Settings
Mods:
- Unlimited Trees Mod (slider to 8)
- 81 Tiles
- Railway Replacer
- Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance
- Decal Prop Fix
- Daylight Classic
- Prop and Tree Anarchy

Assets:
Here's a collection to save some time subscribing. I tried to keep it from getting too excessive, but it's still a fair number of things.

Theme: NotSoRockyHills. It renders cliffs differently than most themes, and the ore texture is dirt that's been used for terrain detailing. Using other themes will most likely not look good, especially around the mountains and bodies of water.

LUT: Relight Average is what I use in the screenshots, but I've been pleased with the look of others and this one is a bit subjective.

Ronyx's Gravel Rural Road came out shortly after I published this and honestly I feel like it's a great match for what the dirt roads in this should be. Maybe worth upgrading the dirt roads to it if you're going for maximum realizing. If it came out sooner I would've used it for sure.

(continuing from last comment)

If it doesn't work still, go into the Content Manager > Mods > Loading Screen Mod Options, and check the little bullet under Reporting that says "Save reports in this directory." Then load it again, and it'll save a .htm file at the file path specified in the mod options. Find that .htm file and send it my way to look over, maybe I can figure out if something is missing.

Oh no problem. After all the time it took I'd like for everyone who's interested in playing this to be able to.

Are you using Loading Screen Mod? It's become one of the single most essential mods out there. You can find it here if you don't have it. That will help a lot with load times and managing system resources by not re-loading shared textures over and over again. It can also generate reports that can help troubleshoot loading issues.

Per my last load, it took me 58 seconds total loading time. 3029 assets were loaded, but only 131 of those are actually used in the map. 16.4 GB total was loaded into RAM, with 24.6 GB pushed onto the page file. I have 32 GB of RAM and can't test with anything less, but I'm pretty sure 16GB is still plenty sufficient. 8 GB might just not be enough. IDK your system specs, but just a thought.

I would say first try it again with Loading Screen Mod enabled (cont.)

hi winter, tx for your quick response :steamhappy:. ...well, i must say that i am not a pro. just started again playing after a long time. so, i still cant get your map running. unlimited trees to max (8). dont know wat to do now :steamfacepalm:. consumes quite a bit of time. have still the same mentioned issue, that crashes the game.

Okay. Well, this is embarassing. I missed a *lot* of dependencies on that collection. Like 2/3 of the roads and a bunch of other things. That would 100% cause issues. It's all added to the collection now, hopefully that'll fix it. If you want to see the whole loading screen mod report, it's here [polyphonic.haus]. Scroll down about 1/5 - 1/4 the way down to see "The following custom assets are used in this city" for what's actually needed.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll take another look through and see if I missed any dependencies. This thought is probably obvious, but you set unlimited trees to max right? That can cause problems if it's not high enough.
