How to play COOP [SourceCoop Mod]
By Alienmario and 1 collaborators
Let me introduce SourceCoop, a fully-featured SourceMod-based Co-Op mod for Black Mesa. It is a community effort that has been started in 2020 by a couple of developers.

For more information about the project visit our Github[github.com] and feel free to join our Discord[discord.gg].

There are 2 ways to play, you can simply join a server which runs our mod or host your own.

A) Join a server in the server browser (Recommended)
Community servers can be found in:
  • Server browser - look for coop or maps beginning with "bm_"
  • Our Discord[discord.gg]
There is also an official server called SourceCoop official [EU], IP 49.12.103.55:27015
B) Run a dedicated server
If you want to play just with your friends, you have to host a private server.
Please understand, that in order to make your server accessible over the net, you have to either:
  • Port forward (27015-27030 UDP)
  • Run a network tunneling service on the host, e.g. playit.gg
  • Connect the host and all players by creating a virtual network, e.g. Radmin or Hamachi
  • Beg the developers to add Steam networking to the game (Steam Datagram Relay)
If you do not do this, your server will probably be limited to LAN (Local network).

SCLauncher
The SourceCoop launcher will handle everything for you:
  • Server download, configuration and hosting
  • Joining servers via integrated server browser
  • Game launching
  • Custom campaign mod support - coming soon

Manual installation
Manual installation is no longer necessary or recommended and has been moved to legacy guide: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3519716415
FAQ
Q: How to save progress?
A: You have to manually choose the map (see below), but you can save & load player state with sc_save and sc_load.

Q: How to change maps?
A: Use sm_map mapname or changelevel mapname commands. Check this guide for complete map list.
Alternatively, all players can start a map vote by typing /changemap in chat or using the ingame SourceCoop menu.

Q: How to set the difficulty?
A: By default, difficulty is set to increase by 2 per player. To set it manually, use the command sourcecoop_difficulty_auto -1 and sourcecoop_difficulty x where x is a number from 0 to infinity.

Q: I'm getting 'your map differs' error when connecting to a server.
A: It can mean 2 things, either you're in different branch of the game than the server or have a mod installed that replaces stock maps (like OAR Uncut).

Q: I'm getting 'unexpected authentication protocol 1675212' error when connecting to a server.
A: Did you install SourceMod into your game client? If so, disable/remove it.

Q: I found a bug.
A: Check if it's already listed under issues on the github, otherwise add a new issue.

Q: I want to help.
A: Please check out our github.

Q: Is this compatible with Blue Shift?
A: Not yet.

Do animation mods and ones that change the campaign itself work?

@XWal Use 1 of the programs like Hamachi (or what i suggest) Radmin VPN all connect to eachother with it by creating the network and everyone will see the server in lan, yw.

Hi. I was able to start the server, but I have a problem: only I can join, and my friends can't see the server in their browsers.

Has it really? It hasn't for me. If anyone's concerned, virustotal.com will tell a more accurate picture.

Just an FYI that Windows Defender flagged this launcher you have linked as a Trojan

It comes out in deathmatch mode and not campaign mode, how do I fix it?

You have to manually choose the map (there's a command to make navigating the maplist easier), but you can save & load player equipment.
