In the post - war period of 1920-1927, soldiers of the French Foreign Legion served in Europe and the colonies in Africa and Indochina. The most intense events were in North Africa, where uprisings and national liberation movements broke out, and the Legion had to suppress them. In Indochina, then, was relatively calm. In Europe, legionaries had to fight the Bolsheviks.
