This guide was originally created to port maps from CS:GO to Garry's Mod, because there was not enough maps in the game for "Hide and seek" from CS:GO (which I ported to Garry's mod), so I made this.

Most likely, the map that you will launch in Garry's Mod uses resources that are only in CS:GO, so you need to activate it in the list of games in Garry's mod itself


The next step is to download the map from the Steam Workshop. As an example I will use this map Seek Hotel (Hide and Seek)

Get the API key from this link https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/dev/apikey
We use as a domain: localhost

After the performed actions, save this key somewhere

In the unpacked archive, go to the folder "/bin"
While holding the "Shift" button, click on the "Open command window here" button or "Open PowerShell window" in Windows 10


In the window that appears, enter the following command:



Here we copy the link marked as "file_url" and open it in the browser, then download it. Open the file using the program 7-zip[www.7-zip.org]



Inside the "compressed map" will be the same map, only in uncompressed form. GARRY'S MOD COMPRESSED MAP CAN'T BE OPENED!!!



We unpack this map along the way:
If necessary, create the folders manually!

For convenience, you can add a prefix to the map (for example "hns_")

Optionally, you can add a preview. To display it, the image must be named: <map_name>.png
