I do not understand, if you use my Bass.ini, than you shoud have a "sky\" subfolder in your "Beneath a Steel Sky\" Root directory.
If you do not have a:
SKY-VM-CD.ASD
timestamps
file, after saving once, this could be your problem, but I do not know why.
All the parameter you have listed are irrelevant for saving:
You need this in your Bass.ini:
savepath=SKY\
extrapath=SKY\
path=SKY\ <------- this was the only You use!!
SKY-VM-CD.ASD
timestamps
I deleted all references to saving in the .ini and I haven't had any problem saving manually since.
So I have:
[scummvm]
updates_check=0
versioninfo=2.1.2
extra=v0.0372 cd
gui_browser_native=false
gui_theme=SCUMMREMASTERED
fullscreen=false

render_mode=amiga

music_driver=windows_Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
opl_driver=auto
midi_gain=100
multi_midi=false
native_mt32=false
opl_driver=auto
gm_device=null
soundfont=C:\Windows\System32\drivers\gm.dls
mt32_device=null
enable_gs=false
gui_saveload_last_pos=0
sfx_mute=false

But I like the soundkonfiguration in my file best, you must just look if the gm.dls file is in your windows driver folder.
It increases the resolution and smoothes the pixels, without blurring the image extremely.
But you only notice that when you enlarge the window, if you play in a small window you can also leave out the filter.
So we can use the Emulator for more DOS-Games e.g. The Day of the Tentacle.....!
