Setting custom images for workshop uploads
By Figo
Hello!

I received a comment on one of my workshop uploads asking about setting custom images in the workshop, so here is a guide for it!
I also want to thank discord user Brainbowbash for helping me to get this figured out the first time.

Step 1: Getting your screenshot ready

The first thing you need to do is get a nice screenshot. The criteria for this are as follows:
  • 1:1 Aspect Ratio
  • PNG Format
  • 1MB or less filesize

Step 2: Replacing image in save file location

So you want to navigate to the folder with all of your bot saves in it, the filepath to look for will be as follows:
C:\Users\ {USERNAME} \AppData\Local\RoboBuild\Saved\bots

From this directory you want to look for the item you are trying to replace the default image for.
Here is the directory for my bot "F Zero - Little Wyvern"
https://i.imgur.com/ztk7XGe.jpg

When adjusting your own creation, make sure that your replacement image has the exact same title as the png image in this folder. After that copy/paste your image and replace the one in the destination folder (".bot.F Zero - Little Wyvern" in this example).

Step 3: Upload

Now share your creation from within Main Assembly. Your icon should be updated!

I was told that each time you make changes to a bot and save, this process needs to be redone again in order to preserve the icon.
I hope this helps some creators, and I look forward to seeing all of your creations on the workshop!

Sometimes I will get errors like "R_OK" and I always relaunch steam to get rid of that error.
