This is a home made guide [allso I'm spanish so imagine how difficult is to write this things] so it may contain ortographic mistakes or lack of information, if you find any let me know in the comments and I will fix it.

Installing DayZ is not easy or funny, and in the moment you do something wrong everything will mess up so if you had any problem with Dayz I recommend you to uninstall and erase everything you have related to DayZ and follow this guide step by step.

To install DayZ mod is strictly necessary to have:

• Arma 2
  
• Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead

Both included in this 1st bundle which is the essential to play DayZ mod.

Even though with Arma 2 y OA we are able to play DayZ mod without problems, to have the best game experience, high definition textures and more models, you need the following DLCs:

• British Armed Forces
  
• Private Military Company
  
• Army of the Czech Republic

All of them, plus Arma2 plus Operation Arrowhead, are included in this 2nd bundle which is the most indicated to play DayZ mod.


Take into account, both bundles have Arma2 and OA so buy just one, the most suitable for you.

Take your time and follow these steps carefully:
[The parts in italics are only for owners of ArmaII: Complete Edition, if you only have Combined Operations ignore the parts in italics.]

1.- Install ArmaII and then ArmaII OA, is not necessary to install the beta.
[1.1].-[Install the rest of DLCs you have, British Armed Forces, Private Military Company...]

2.- Execute ArmaII, just enter to the menu, that's enough, then the same with OA.
[Be sure the DLCs are activated, you could see them in bottom of the screen]

3.- Download and install DayzCommander[www.dayzcommander.com] ,because the mod version in Steam is extremely basic and poor compared with what you will find there.


4.- Open DayZcommander and go to "Settings" and tick "Launch using Steam" as well as "Replace original Arma2OA files with Beta so Steam works". Check the "GAME DIRECTORIES" are truly your directories to Arma2. Click "Done".



5.- Once you have done that, go to "Install/Update" and install:

• I- The last beta patch (103718)
  
• II- The latest DayZ version (1.8.0.3)
  
• III- All the mods you want from the list.

Click "Done".

How to enter to any server using DayzCommander:

Go to "servers" and click the server you would like to enter, DayZ commander will open ArmaII OA and will enter the server at once.


Take into account that not all the servers use the same version or the same mods, to help you DayzCommander has an option to "Hide Wrong Arma2 Version" and "Hide Wrong Mod Version", use them your way to filter the servers.


DayzCommander allows you to filter some in-game features with the left menu:
For instance, in the image below:

-Third Person: Green= only servers with Third Person ON will appear.
-Nameplates: Red= only servers with nameplates OFF wil appear.
-Crosshairs: Grey= indifferent, all of them will appear, both ON and OFF.


We can allso add a server to "favorites" to enter faster, just click the star next to its name:

Or search the servers where we recently played in "recent" next to "servers".



Right now, you are able to play in any DayZ mod server, but if you want to register and play in Zombiespain servers, keep reading:

The following part of the guide can be useful for you as an example of how to enter a server, but please don't strictly follow these steps.

Zombiespain is a spanish communnity Dayz fan, which has right now two servers running edited versions of some of the best mods for DayZ:

• ES 69, Epoch Panthera.
  
• ES 23, Namalsk.
  
• ES 70, Downstream Chernarus (Being tested, once the final version is released I'll post how to play)
  
• ES 22 (Coming soon)

Both have edited version of their mods, so you need to follow the next steps to enter and acces the whitelist:
1.-Download the mods needed to play each server:

• For ES 69
  • Epoch 1.0.3.1
    
  • Panthera 1.8
  
  
• ForES 23
  • Namalsk 0.741

2.-Enter http://www.zombiespain.es/ and follow the steps to register.

Once registered and confirmed, go to step 3.

3.- Download Zombiespain launcher from this web[www.zombiespain.es] and install it.


4.- Some shorcuts will appear in your desktop, click the one named "DayZ Craft", a window will open with a progress bar, leave it until it finishes and then close it.
Do the same with the one called "ES 69".
Then you can erase all those shorcuts.

5.- Now just go to the DayzCommander and search in "servers" the word "Zombiespain" so all the servers hosted by them will appear:


To enter just double click on one of them, if everything went well (and I hope so), you should be able to play without any problem.
