How It Works
Random Ability Draft assigns a random hero to every player in the game and will prompt them to take turns choosing which ability they want their hero to have. Every player can choose three standard abilities and one ultimate.

The abilities that are available to pick from is built up from all of the heroes that are currently in the game along with an extra set of abilities from two other random heroes. There are no limitations on what kind of abilities can be combined. You should however take into consideration your heroes primary stat and build around that as Strength and Agility heroes tend to have smaller mana pools and regen.

Drafting Phase
Once the game begins you'll be given sixty seconds to look at the available abilities. After the time has elapsed the drafting phase will begin. Once every player has picked their first ability there will be a ten second period between the next drafting phase. Drafting is done in order, the player that picked last during the previous phase will get to pick first in the next phase. This cycle will continue until each player has four abilities.

When it's your turn to pick the countdown will turn green. You're given only five seconds to make your selection, failing to choose will result in a random ability being chosen.

Just like a regular game of Dota 2 abilities can be levelled up as normal once the match begins. You'll start the game with the standard 625 gold.

Keep in mind that ability effecting items such as Aghanims Sceptre will work if an upgrade is available.

At any point throughout the game you can see which abilities each player has by opening the scoreboard and hovering over the icons to the right.
