I am not sure if the bug you described connected with it. But I saw a lot of Demigoddeses towers in both screenshots you provided.
So, just let us know if it happens again and make a screenshot!
In other instances, the polymorphed unit (each time has been a Deathmonger - don't know if that's relevant) has had it's health reduced to 0 but still continued along the map but without being able to be targeted. The map in these cases would not end until the polymorphed unit had reached the end portal.
Was it polymorphed at this place?
or it was polymorhed somwhere else, killed
And then sheep appeared in the start if the mission?
