Before we head down this rabbit hole, it's possible a true answer may not be out there, the creator has been hopelessly disconnected, not paying attention to the growing community his "game" has created.

As sad as this may be, I still have hope, perhaps the answer does exist, although he himself may not be able to confirm, I think through logic, science, and faith, we may find the answer we've been looking for.

So come with me on this chronicle of research that struggles to answer the infamous question that has been plaguing all of our minds, What is the purple fruit?

My first thought was, perhaps we could figure out what this fruit is by looking at the other fruits besides it, what if all of these fruits share some kind of common ancestor, or all had evolved from the previous?

After some research I quickly learned this lead was hopeless.

Strawberries were bred in the early 1700s in France, and is a hybrid, so it doesn't matter how far back we go and how much we decipher their taxonomic ranks, starting from a hybrid would be totally unreasonable.

Immediately a dead lead, but this was to be expected, after all, all of these fruits have little in common in taste or appearance.

Although our hopes for an easy, scientific answer have been crushed, that doesn't mean we can't do this the good old fashioned way, trial and error!

Let's list off some options. and see which what we're left with at the end after careful scrutinization.

• Grapes- A very popular fruit, making it a likely option, and the inside is fairly gooey, matching the cut open appearance. But only having two would be strange, I'm doubtful..

• Passion Fruit- Very similar to the image, the inside is yellow just like the image too, this is the obvious choice. The only strange thing is the lack of popularity in comparison to the other fruits.

Passion Fruit would be the top choice, but what if we could be 100% sure? I think I know a way.

Let's take into account how these images look in comparison to each other, their styles are all different, having that strange clipart feel to them. Perhaps we can just find these images online, getting the assets the creator used, leaving an inarguable answer.

We've found our answer, this is a Passion Fruit.

What a strange choice, all the other fruits are far more popular, it bothered me, so I looked to the creator, his name is Mihai Morosanu and he lives in Romania, a country not particularly known for Passion Fruit one way or the other. So I guess the only explanation is that the man likes Passion Fruit, and frankly folks, can we blame him?
