Description
More Babies For Counts & Dukes
Counts and Dukes, and their unlanded children, will now have more babies. In a time of death by combat, disease, and maternal mortality, lineages at the feudal foundations will no longer be hamstrung by fertility nerfs.

Counts and their unlanded sons and daughters will now have a base of 4 children, up from 2, and Dukes and their unlanded sons and daughters will now have a base of 5 children, up from 3. Rulers get a vanilla bonus of 2 children, and there is a vanilla 50% chance a couple will have 1 less child.

Overall ruling Counts will now have a base of 5 to 6 children, and ruling Dukes will have a base of 6 to 7 children, in line with the vanilla base for ruling Kings and Emperors of 6 to 7 children.

The feudal foundations will now be better positioned to pass on titles from generation to generation, produce more men and women for other characters to marry, and contest titles through war and marriage rather than by lineage extinction.

Balance
Partition on succession may become harder as more heirs will exist to inherit. There may be a performance cost as more characters fill the game world, although I haven't noticed any in my playtesting.

Another effect is likely to be less female rulers of counties and dukedoms as more of their brothers will exist to survive their landed parents and inherit their titles.


Works Well With

Imposes marriage opinion penalties and hard nerfs on older and infertile women. The AI will no longer marry their teenage heirs to 60 year old grannies. Fertility and age become top matchmaking criteria and the AI will search wider and deeper on the map for the right young woman to bear their legitimate children in the longest reproductive window.

seems like a lot of counts and even kings only have 1-2 children than some have like 5-6. very odd

This is the only mod of the series that does not need to be updated, as of now. The others do, use Morven's mods compatch for 1.12.

Hey Morven, is there a chance that i can modiy just the number of children which a Man/Woman can have? Without expand or reduce the %. / for that tier equal unlanded, baron, count, duke, king, emperor. so that is very uncommon that a man have 8 children but it could be possible

I'm not the author, but the code for this mod is very very simple and should work fine in the latest version of the game (and all future updates too, I'd imagine)

No this mod is just a simple defines edit of that one key: BASE_NR_OF_CHILDREN_PER_COUPLE

The game doesn't intend for unlanded people to procreate, there's lots of mechanisms by which they are excluded and get pushed out of the game world. The pressing reason being that otherwise they'd be a population explosion in the save. The main way they are excluded from marriage is their lack of alliance power and being barred from searching for spouses, if you want to tinker with that they're set in:
\common\defines\ai\00_ai.txt

Both of these are set to zero for unlanded/baron AI of unlanded/baron parents, meaning they won't look for spouses

MAX_NUMBER_OF_SPOUSE_CANDIDATES
