Description
Weapon Script for Thanez's .357 Magnum on Cele's animations: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2218810850.

You want your HUD icon to match it, don't you?: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2282197198.

Modified weapon stats are in the picture. Find up-to-date stats on all scripts in this convenient Google Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hn2ELPDXtpCPwgMsQv3zrGIPY_5OIn9e2kmqb7CEfgI/

*** About Weapon Scripts ***
Scripts aim to match as close to real world specs as feasible. Exotic weapons (like those from other games) may have some liberties taken.

Adjustments include weight, recoil/spread, magazine size, rate of fire, effective range/falloff range, AI preference, and penetration depth/stats.

Damage, rate of fire, and player movement speed may be adjusted up or down.

To keep in line with vanilla gameplay and prevent OP, damage is adjusted accordingly:
  • Damage adjusted up/down (typically up) when needed to keep in tune with the original game stats.
  • Damage per magazine is favored over DPS, since rate of fire changes make DPS incomparable to vanilla.
IE: Silenced Uzi has 50 round/mag at X damage. When magazine capacity is lowered to match the Honey Badger's, damage is adjusted up to match the vanilla's damage per *magazine* as Honey Badger's rate of fire adjustment against vanilla makes DPS comparisons invalid.

Please report any issues on my profile page. Thanks!

If you'd like a HUD icon and/or weapons script for any of your favorite weapons, please request one in the comments of my guide here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2303626211.

Alrighty, man!

All I'm saying is rather than duplicate the whole workshop mod, ask the mod owner to recompile with lower fps for those particular animations. If they can't/won't, I can try my hand at it or a custom weapon script. I'm just not confident the weapon script would be effective since I've read contradictory info on it. Let me know what you find out!

Hmmmm I never checked the comments since most of the comments weren't in English. I'll try digging something up in those comments if people or the mod owner will do something about it.

Decompiling the model reveals in the .qc file that the animations for reload and reload empty are at a different fps than the common one I've seen (38, and 32 fps, respectively- I usually see 30 fps). I don't know if trying to edit the reload duration using scripts is a better idea or just having the mod owner recompile the models with a different fps for those animations. I'm leaning towards that, though. Have other people mentioned this issue to the mod owner and if so, what did he/she say?

Yes. The animation speed is too fast, but the generic reload time is too slow, so I want them to just match. I'm still thanking you for trying, man. lmao it's not every day that a person can answer your requests.

Don't thank me unless it works, I'm still unsure the variable in the weapon script actually affects anything. Give me a few days to unpack the vpk, decompile the model, view the .qc and animation durations, and adjust the weapon script. Just to be clear, the reload animation is fast, you want the script to make the actual weapon speed match the animation, correct?

I'll see what I can do but no promises.

I can make a script that you can try out and see. But so far everything I've read says they may not have an effect since it's the animation speed. Of course the information I have found is older, a few updates ago.

Can you please give a specific link so I don't have to hunt through all that persons (very nice!) submissions?

It's not a die-hard request, my man. It's only up to you if you're interested. Thanks! :)

It's the .50GS Desert Eagle, M4A1/MK18 and the Rytec AMR/XM109 from Pygame.D.Cthulu. They have super sweet COD 2019 anims and they're just too fast for the standard L4D2 reload speed. It would be great if you made a script to fit the reloads of these animations.
