Description
Q:You just don't get it, do you, Jean-Luc? The trial never ends. We wanted to see if you had the ability to expand your mind and your horizons. And for one brief moment, you did.
Captain Picard: When I realized the paradox.
Q: Exactly. For that one fraction of a second, you were open to options you had never considered. *That* is the exploration that awaits you. Not mapping stars and studying nebulae, but charting the unknown possibilities of existence.

-Star Trek: The Next Generation, Episode 7x25/26 All Good Things...

Ever wished that there was a Technological or Cultural Victory condition for Stellaris? Loved to play tall but had to eventually conquer the galaxy as the Tamarians or Morali? Almost finished the goal of conquering the galaxy but didn't want to do all the tedious mop-up? Here is a story-driven mod based on your race seeking a new state of existence. Dare your race reach for the infinite wisdom, power, and charisma of the Q?

This is a merging of my mods Honor Leaders - New Mechanic and Ascension - New Victory Condtion adapted for the many, many, changes made in Star Trek : New Horizons.

Mod main points:
  • Ascension - The basic premise is that your empire's populace is tired of the material realm and wishes to ascend to a higher plane of existence. What form that takes, and who gets to go, depends on your ethics.
    • Inspirations - The mod tracks your actions based on your governing ethics - (authoritarians promoting the ruling elite and population controls, xenophobes purging pops and focusing on purity, pacifists building tall and staying at peace, spiritualists promoting the faith, and so on). Each time you do something according to your ethics, you gain a one-time progress boost towards an ethic specific, high cost technology.
    • Ascension buildings - Upon researching that technology, you gain access to a building to be constructed at your capitol, which also gives you very powerful bonuses. Three additional, non-ethic specific, high cost technologies and buildings are also required for you to...
    • Ascend! Once all 4 buildings are constructed at your capitol, an edict will be enabled that allows you to ascend your population! Most of the time this takes the form of your populace entering a portal and vanishing from existence. (This represents a game over, since for technical reasons the game does not have a triggerable victory screen) Other victory outcomes may appear based on civics or government type.
    • This is enabled for the AI! - The other playable empires will also pursue this victory condition, and will ascend once all the conditions are met. You will receive notifications as they progress.
  • Leaders: Tracking leader stats - Most on_actions now track a leader's progress, setting flags or incrementing a stat based on what occurred: Pop grew, colony lost, war ended, ship destroyed, tech researched, etc. Leaders that live long enough can gain achievements, such as: claimed many new systems, researched many anomalies, purged many species, or lost many ships. Unique circumstances may also cause the leader to become infamous, such as allowing rebels to take over a planet, or allowing pops to die due to overpopulation.
    • View living leader stats - You can view your current leader roster's stats and achievements via an edict that iterates through them.
    • Honor leader upon death - Upon a leader dying, a dialog will show that shows their stats and achievements, and gives you three options:
      • Honor them at cost of some influence, which gives unity based on leader skill, and a 10 year country bonus based on the leader's traits and achievements. It will also rename a set of objects: system, planet, army, ship etc. based on the leader class.
      • Save them for honoring later - currently can save up to 5 leaders of each class for a total of 25
      • Ignore them and they will be gone forever
    • View Saved leaders and honor/delete them - You can view the memorialized leaders via another edict, and honor them again for the cost of influence, or delete the ones not worthy of further remembrance. If you wish, you can also honor a historical leader, which is randomly generated.
    • Construct Memorials - Megastructures built in orbit of a planet that permanently provide unity and a bonus based on the leader class, as well as traits and achievements from the memorialized leader.

---------------------------IN-PROGRESS-BETA---------------------------------------------
This mod is functionally complete, but could use additional endings, inspiration events, story writing, etc. I am releasing it now because everyone is stuck at home and could use a longer playthrough to pass the time. Let me know in the discussion section about suggestions /balancing, bugs etc. and I will try to address your concerns.

Compatibility
NOT Achievements compatible, unfortunately. Adapted specifically for SN:TH, so will not work with vanilla. I would recommend starting a new save when installing this mod.

Future Features:
Exceptional leaders aid in the ascension process
Additional Endings
Expanded inspiration events
Bonuses based on how far along you are on the ascension path
Major race story-driven ascension paths and endings

Credits:
Ascension - Additional Victory condition - for the original concept

Localization notes:
This will be machine translated into supported languages once additional text is fleshed out. They may or may not be continuously updated by me, as I am one person.

Personal Note:
This is my third published mod. Let me know in the discussion section about suggestions /balancing, bugs etc. and I will try to address your concerns. This mod was created mostly for my own enjoyment of Stellaris and ST:NH, and I would like to share it with you. Improving it would help us both. I do this in my spare time, but if you want to send me a tip you can do so here: PayPal[www.paypal.me] Patreon[www.patreon.com]

Wait, why'd they ban you, Crazierinzane?

As much as I love this mod, getting banned from STNH discord was not as much fun. Bunch of bullies.
