Cheesing credits might make the game too easy and not interesting, use at your own risk.
Takes about 10-15 min --- depends on your weapons and inventory space

Enemies will spawn endlessly and in my opinion developers should fix it by limiting the number of ships spawn for a specific amount of time.

Step 1 - find your target

First you have to find any enemy station (or make one of the sides your enemy) which is close to the trader like showed on the screenshot:

Step 2 - go on a killing spree

Start destroying everything that is red and moving:

Don't forget to cut engine (press X by default) to easier avoid enemy shots while killing them:

Press F1 (by default) to collect any dropped loot.

Step 3 - efficiency

If you have any blueprints then craft some components or items to make space for more loot.

Also, a good way to maximize profit is to destroy any cheap items you have that is under 150 credits per slot.

Step 4 - sell

After your ship is full of valuable loot, make your way to that closest trader and start selling.
(bottom left)

The end

This strategy will boost you EXP as well since you have to destroy hundreds of ships.

Found a "better" solution:
Bartenders will rarely offer a quest to acquire X valuables.
The quest reward will be <base price> + 3*Valuable Price.

If you decline then ask for work again, it'll re-issue the same quest adding the 3*Price *again*. Even with junk commodities that can be an extra thousand for two mouse-clicks. I've made 300K off a single quest for Experimental Cyders (base 30, Count 30 total added per decline: 1.8K).
