X-WING and TIE FIGHTER joystick fix
By patri3kx
If you have any axis limit, drift, or any other calibration issues which only exist within XWING DOS, XWING CD or TIE DOS, and you're at your wits end trying to calibrate your joystick, then this setting change may help you.

DOSBOX CONFIG FILE SETTINGS
Try timed=false in the joystick settings within the DOSBOX config file:
dosbox_tie.conf
dosbox_xwing.conf
dosbox_xwingcd.conf

Steam's TIE CD version currently ships with this setting:
dosbox_tiecd.conf

You may also have some luck changing the joysticktype setting if you have trouble getting the games to recognise the joystick in the first place.

Hey Airpyr8t! Thank you for this tip. I've been looking for a program that could rebind my controller axis like i wanted, but never found one. The xinputplus worked perfectly. THANK YOU

I found a free program called xinput plus that makes this game completely playable without drift and using all the buttons on a controller or joystick . Working download link as of May 4th 2021.. https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2034-xinputplus-ver-415/ . And here a tutorial page if there any confusion https://www.play-old-pc-games.com/compatibility-tools/xinput-plus-tutorial/ Should work with any game that uses xinput or direct input . Happy gaming and May the 4th be with you!
