⋆ Before you go berserker on me for not recommending your favorite weapon, sidearm and gadget, please do know that this is only my opinion and it will differ from yours.

⋆ I am an amateur and this was made just for sharing my knowledge and helping new players improve their gameplay. If you would like to make an recommendation or suggestion, do it in the comments like a gentleman.
Tips
⋆ Sniper rifles can be zeroed, which means you can set your shot distance. When you aim at a flag or another key point on the map, the interface will show the distance. Obviously, you can skip the zeroing and shoot higher. Weapons can only be zeroed to 75, 150, and 300 meters.

⋆ Sniper rifles are most effective at a long range. Stay at a distance from the enemies, around 50-100 meters, because other classes' weapons are ineffective at such a distance, and if you get farther, it might be hard to hit an enemy.

⋆ Equip a pistol with a high rate of fire. When you get close to the battlefield, use the sidearm instead of a sniper rifle, and use a knife or a bayonet as a melee weapon.

Primary (Top 5)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Martini-Henry

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   "A breech-loading, single-shot rifle firing a heavy black powder cartridge. It was used ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀during the Zulu, Boer wars and World War I."

⋆ Firing the large caliber .577/450 Martini–Henry cartridge, it is comparable to the SMLE MKIII in performance, inflicting fatal damage between 30–80 meters and retaining 70 damage at range. Its muzzle velocity is lowest among Scout rifles.

⋆ As a single-shot weapon, its reload speed limits the maximum possible fire rate to 24 rounds/minute, making it a challenging weapon to use at close range. Little to no customization is available for the weapon.

⋆ The Martini-Henry also has a peculiar damage output, with its maximum being 112, higher than any primary in the game. This extra damage compensates for lower hitbox multipliers on different parts of the body, allowing a one-shot-kill in this range on the head, upper body, lower body, and upper arms
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

4. Russian 1895

"The Russian 1895 was one of the last lever action rifles to see large-scale use in combat."

⋆ The weapon's lever action is quickly worked, offering a higher fire rate than most bolt-action rifles. The Trench variant deals its highest damage at very close range, while the Infantry and Sniper variants sit between the mid-range SMLE MKIII and long-range Gewehr 98. The weapon is limited by its small integral five round magazine.

⋆ Four variants of the weapon are featured in multiplayer: Infantry, Sniper, Trench, and Cavalry.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Infantry variant regains accuracy more quickly due to reduced weight. It can be zeroed for 75, 150 and 300 meters and is equipped with a bayonet."

  • Sniper variant is equipped with a scope, a bipod and a bayonet.

  • Trench variant is capable of inflicting one-hit kill headshots at close range but does not have a "sweet spot" where a single body shot results in a kill. It also
has a superior fire rate and hip-fire accuracy compared
    to the other variants.

  • Cavalry variant features no equipped bayonet and is capable of killing enemies in two hits unless the head is struck. While on horseback the player cannot aim down the sights, and thus fires less accurately than on foot. With favorable terrain, the rifle can be used effectively while riding. It is statistically identical to the Trench variant, except for a better damage ramp, slightly faster muzzle velocity, and faster recovery, but wider spread.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. SMLE MKIII

⠀⠀"A British bolt action rifle with a high magazine capacity, excellent for medium to long range ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀use."

⋆ The weapon features a high magazine capacity but a relatively slow rate of fire and substantial recoil. The rate of fire is slow enough that the weapon is at a distinct disadvantage at very short ranges. All of this encourages taking slow, aimed shots and taking down each enemy methodically.

⋆ The weapon is a reliable 3-shot kill at any range and it is quite possible to take down multiple enemies from an unseen position before having to reload.

⋆ Four variants of the SMLE MKIII are featured in the game: Infantry, Marksman, Carbine and Lawrence of Arabia.

    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Infantry is the base variant of the weapon. As with other base variants, it regains accuracy over distance due to it lack of attachments.

  • Lawrence of Arabia's variant functions identically
to the Infantry variant of the weapon, and features a unique design

  • Marksman variant is equipped with a telescopic sight and palm rest, this rifle pattern offers longer stability. It can be zeroed for 75, 150 and 300 meters.

  • Carbine variant is shortened to improve mobility in medium range engagements. It is zeroed for 75 meters.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2. Gewehr M.95

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   "A straight-pull bolt action rifle that allows for a high rate of fire, even when used with a ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀scope."

⋆ Three variants of the weapon are featured in the multiplayer: Infantry, Marksman, and Carbine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Infantry is the standard variant, which comes equipped only with a bayonet. It benefits from reduced recoil and better resistance to suppression when compared to the other variants.

  • Marksman variant is equipped with a medium-power scope, a palm rest and a bayonet. It can provide continuous long-range fire without leaving the scope.

  • Carbine variant has a shortened barrel and a magnified lens sight and a bayonet. Whilst the lens sight does increase accuracy at a healthy distance, the Carbine has a quite noticeably longer aim time than the Infantry variant. This can be problematic in close-quarters, where the Gewehr M.95 excels, but is somewhat balanced by the increased hip fire accuracy of this variant.

    1. Gewehr 98

⠀⠀⠀⠀"A German bolt action rifle firing a very fast projectile, excellent for long range use."

⋆ The Gewehr 98 has the distinct advantage of having the fastest muzzle velocity in the game, bar none, at 880 m/s, meaning the bullet will reach its destination the fastest. Additionally, the flat trajectory of the bullets means that sniping at long range is easier than with other weapons.

⋆ Together with its long-range sweet spot of 80-125 meters, the Gewehr 98 is arguably the most suitable sniper rifle for long-range sniping.

⋆ Three variants of the Gewehr 98 are featured in Battlefield 1 for the Scout kit: Infantry, Marksman, and Sniper.
      ⠀⠀⠀
    • Infantry variant is equipped with iron sights
and a bayonet. It also has higher spread and recoil decrease than other variants.

    • Marksman variant is equipped with a lower magnification scope and a palm rest.

    • Sniper variant is equipped with a bipod and a high-magnification scope for long-range shooting.

Sidearm (Top 3)
Gadgets
K Bullets

⋆ K Bullets inflicts more damage up close and tapers off greatly. They are capable of disabling light armored vehicles if they hit engines, and deal nominal damage to heavy armor. K Bullets are also effective against elite classes and cavalry, who wear body armor and take reduced damage from normal bullets.

⋆ The player can skip K Bullet animations by switching to a different weapon or gadget then switching to the K Bullet gadget, or by doing so when scoping in.

⋆ K Bullets are as effective as standard ammunition, and can be a useful substitute if other ammo sources are depleted.

Trench Periscope

⋆ Taking the form of a pair of periscope binoculars, the gadget's primary use is to spot enemies with a red outline, making them conspicuous targets. In addition, an indicator at the bottom-right corner of the scope allows the gadget to act as a rangefinder, showing the distance in meters to the subject in the central crosshair. Uniquely, the periscope allows for observation when in cover, or to see over obstacles at head-height.

⋆ The gadget produces scope glint, and does not indicate if the user has inadvertently exposed themselves.

Flare Gun

⋆ There are two types of Flare Gun featured in multiplayer: Spot and Flash.

⋆ A minimap area indicates where a lit flare has landed, providing additional information for the user.

⋆ It functions by spotting enemies and deployed gadgets within range of the fired flare. A red flare is used, emitting yellow smoke as it burns.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⋆ The Flash Flare emits brilliant white light, making it difficult for the enemy to see. Like the Smoke Grenade, it also breaks spotting.

Sniper Decoy

⋆The player can place up to three decoys which are essentially fake heads on top of stakes. In order to be more believable, decoys give off a Scope Glint when looked at by enemy players, and wear the faction's scout headgear. Scouts may also adjust their height while placing in order to better hide their stakes; this is done by switching stances (standing, crouch, prone). Decoy locations are marked on the minimap for all teammates with a "target" icon.

⋆ If enemy players do fall for the decoy and manage to hit it with gunfire, it will cause them to be outlined to reveal their location to the entire team. The decoy will be destroyed in the process.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sniper Shield

⋆The gadget is a placeable shield with a narrow peep hole to allow players behind it to safely engage targets with Sniper rifles or other weapons. The shield protects players from most gunfire, but not from explosives, gas, or fire. Similar to other placeable gadgets, it may be picked up and redeployed as needed.

⋆ Enemy players may still shoot and injure the player through the peep hole. Weapons such as K Bullets, Spiked Clubs, and Pickaxes can destroy a shield in three hits, and heavier weapons in a single hit. Allies carrying a Repair Tool can repair the shield if damaged.

Tripwire Bomb

⋆ When a bomb is attached to a movable object—say, a door or a car—the bomb will detonate if the object is moved.

⋆ While the Tripwire Bomb does little to no damage to vehicles, it can severely injure exposed occupants. However, the incendiary bomb is fair for anti-vehicle support as well.

from someone who mains scout: sniper shield is heavily underrated and you can use it as a step stool to get to areas that are normally impossible to go. K bullets are great for aggressive scouts since they deal additional damage up close. Use your flare like a molotov, block entry ways with it and shoot it into nests of enemies, the fire damage is more impactful than you think. You can throw decoy heads where enemies are chucking grenades, even a grenade impact will spot them. You can also bob and weave behind a sniper decoy to bait an enemy into getting spotted.

For sidearms, the Bodeo is a solid choice, it hits hard and has a moderate rate of fire.
