Description
A commissioned upgrade of rp_industrial17_2017 for Under World Gaming in 2020, released 2021.
The map features a redone D3, revamped D2, over a dozen secret stash locations and hide-y holes, QoL updates, a Nexus prison block inspired by the style of Nova Prospekt, and the destruction of a rebel base.

This map assembled for Under World Gaming. Please do not use or edit this map without permission - Commission me for personalized versions, or other map ideas you might want.

If you find problems with the map, please leave a comment and if I can fix it I will.

Thanks, and have a great day.

Major changes:
D3 has been gutted and rebuilt like a condemned house.
D2 has been rebuilt based off of the geometry provided by the original Industrial 17 and expanded upon.
D1 more than any other district has had at least a dozen stash holes and secret rooms added to it, though some may be found in D2 as well.
The sodacan base in the sewers has (as commissioned) been de-commissioned with high explosives, leaving the once proud structure a pale shell of what it once was.
The detainment area of the Nexus has been removed and an entirely custom detainment block was built using the design of Nova Prospekt's interior as a style guide.
There is a button that can toggle soundscapes in the map between war and peace.

Minor changes I can remember off the top of my head:
Many texture fixes and re-alignments for maximum OCD
The D1 Baltic vent is now a vent system connecting all three upper stores
The sewer access elevator behind the FOTO/CHANGE has been re-added behind the additional store
The Grotto is back
Anime was removed
The train station checkpoint room was removed
UWG logos have been added to the map
point_message entities have been added to buttons in the NEXUS, though these may not be visible when running the HL2RP gamemode
A train now runs through the bottom of the NEXUS
Combine lights and some other lights with visible spotlight cones have been adjusted to better fit the light source
The lowest part of the NEXUS has had slight layout changes
The CA office doors have been changed out for double doors
The songs radios play have been adjusted
Props that have had the wrong prop type and thus not been displayed have been fixed (Most noticeable at the entrance to the sodacan base and the fire mound at the other base)
There are now five buttons at the top of the top of the nexus that control, in order: The catwalk bridge closest to the Shell Beach bulkhead falling, the second catwalk bridge falling, 'Ship Fun Times' at Shell Beach, toggling the cargo ship at Shell Beach, and toggling between the regular, peaceful soundscapes of i17 and a soundscape that sounds like there's an uprising happening. Please note that the sounds you hear only update when you enter the effect radius of a soundscape entity, so to hear for yourself try walking out of the front door of the CHANGE and into the FOTO.
The concrete barriers at the gated entrance to D2 closest to the Shell Beach bulkhead now have physics enabled
The mobility around D2 has been greatly changed and possibly improved
There are 2 access points from D2 to D3, not counting the sewers
There's a new potential rebel base in D2
There have been some changes to the sewers as related to access to other areas of the map and reworking the octagon shaft place
D3 now has 4 points of access instead of 2, in addition to its complete makeover
The white marking lines marking the edges of the road and parking lot at Shell Beach have been removed
A poster has been removed from the basement hidden door of the Metropol
The NEXUS control center, located under the CA area, has received useful updates to its functions allowing an easier experience
The CMD has an office area underneath the NEXUS control center, where the glass bulge is
NEXUS door textures have been changed by commission
Applicable door frames that were not props before are now props
The HELIX bay lights no longer blind
There is now much more potential for roof access in D1 and D2, with a nod to D3 because that district has been completely reworked
Checkpoints 3 and 4 now display on screen when you enter/exit D1 and D2 on the street level. This holds true for the Shell Beach bulkhead and the D3 / D2 common entry point
Some wayward dumpsters have received proper clip brushes, meaning that you can not simply walk through the front of (hopefully, any) dumpsters
The remaining unbombed sewer base no longer has Shell Beach access but retains the hidden room
Some common-sense door changes here implemented to D1 shop doors

All good then, the lighting was just bugging me a little.

I don't think there's a solution for Stormfox, sorry.

Just a question, why is it so bright and dark? Would there be a solution to make it more StormFox friendly as I am pretty sure that's why the lighting transitions are acting the way they are,

Sounds good to me, I hope you have fun!

GIA will be attempting to use this variation (I like the sewers in comparison to 2022 version.)

The only thing I can suggest is trying out this map and seeing how it runs for you.
Benedict 4 Sep, 2022 @ 8:41am
Yeah... It used to run just fine a while back, but I think that one of the updates to Gmod itself isn't getting along with the maps.

When I tried to load the original V1 i17, I kept getting an error message in the console about optimization or something.

I don't know the particulars of your PC, but if all other i17 versions chugged for you I'm not hopeful for your outcome.
Does even the original i17 chug for you?
Benedict 3 Sep, 2022 @ 10:04am
Please tell me this version will run nicely, all the other Industrial17s I've tried chugged along at 10FPS at the highest.
