Call of Duty's WW II Updated Full Chronological Campaigns for PCs
By: genshmrbn Posted: December 2, 2020 at 14:45 CT (USA); Updated: May 27, 2024

Includes: Call of Duty (CoD), Call of Duty-United Offensive (CoD-UO), Call of Duty 2 (CoD 2), Call of Duty-World at War (CoD-WaW), Call of Duty: WWII, and also Medal Of Honor: Airborne.

You must play completely through each of the CoD & MoH- WW II Games and make certain you save at the beginning of each main mission section (and subsection if possible), as you can then do it all again chronologically by picking and loading the proper Saved Game as per this list. (Either on Steam or from your Hard Copies, though it is far easier on Steam). You can do this by Faction (Russian, British, or American) or Full Combined Chronology.

This is a corrected list from that previously released. (Mission Titles and Levels corrected, Linear list locations corrected, and with a few added notations for clarity.)

I have compiled this as a PC Gamer, and it is primarily for PC Gamers, but if you have both a PC and a Console, please see my other Guide. I do not own a Console, and therefore have no idea how those systems function, or if you can select missions like you can on a PC. I hear they are fun though. Good Luck.

I always return to the World War II games, because they are the most significant historical period of the last century, and to me, as an American historian and former History Teacher at least, are the most fun. I am always astounded and amazed at the incredible gallantry and sacrifice made by all the combatants in that great conflict, who did so much with so little, under so much pressure from their own leaders. I am extremely proud of the three family members who served overseas in their efforts to kill Socialists and end that evil tyranny in Europe. One of them won a Bronze Star. Again, I appreciate the almost unbelievable bravery of all the soldiers in every country.
But let's be absolutely clear here: this was a war against SOCIALISM. The German political party of Nazis (National Socialists is the English translation) embraced Fascism. The Russians were Communists. BOTH were Socialists of different extremes. The Russians, at least, were friendly and had a common goal. So thank your Great-grandparents, your Grandparents, and your Parents for standing up against those evils over the times before you were brought into the world, so that you could live in Freedom from Oppression and Tyranny!
My thanks especially to the Game Designers for having the guts to put this excellent series of games into fruition, and with such historical accuracy as was possible in a gaming format. Well Done!

Though it is not in the Call of Duty Franchise, I went ahead and added Medal of Honor: Airborne because it is a WW II Game, and is just so much fun to play, even though most of the missions never occurred in the manner they are presented in that game, or even occurred at all. But they were made to give you the Feel of it, rather than absolute accuracy. That is true of many missions in the Call of Duty games also. Thank you for your suggestions and ideas, some of which I added, some rejected. I have spent all of the time I will be on this, and am leaving it as it stands now primarily because the game-play flows well as it is.

I have completed playing this again and again, and love the timeline significance from the beginning of the war to the end.
Yes, it is time consuming, but it is worth it. Copy and print the list for ease of use, and to check off finished missions.
And so, from a former History Teacher to all you Gamers, Enjoy! - Genshmrbn

@Shepard - Game designers aren't perfect my friend. Or, perhaps they think he was the forerunner to Special Forces, like Green Beret? Lol. Do not know the actual background they used for this anomaly. My guess is they had a slightly different team to code UO, and they didn't check closely enough in the previous release? I don't know. Good catch though, buddy.

For the American campaign, I noticed a little detail for numbers 38 & 39 in that both missions occur on the same date: 15 Jan 1945. In Call of Duty: United Offensive, number 38 Noville mission begins at 1130 hrs while in Call of Duty 1, number 39 Hurtgen Forest (Festung Recogne) mission begins at 1520 hrs. Cpt. Foley participated in both missions which would mean he barely rested after capturing the chateau in Noville before heading off to Hurtgen Forest.

COD Players: in your Library, select COD, then Guides in the header. When Guides opens, type the players' ID name in the search box and you will see all guides created by that Player. This can be done for any of your games, as long as you know who you are looking for to see if they have guides, art, etc.

@Linky: I agree it's a tragedy.

Do you have a link for your other guide including the consoles? I thought COD: Big Red One, Finest Hour and 3 also did a good job portraying the battles of WWII; 3 largely focused on the Falaise Pocket. Coming from another historian deeply interested in WW2, I think its a tragedy that there's hardly any games these days that're similar to the first COD titles.

MoH-AA isn't in Steam, but I might put it in my personal timeline list.

Updated a little info, and added Medal of Honor: Airborne. Why? It's a lot of fun. It's a WW II game. It fit well and added some missing time period and area of conflict material.
