Snatching the fun away is subjective. Me, I don't like horror games much. They're not my cup of tea. So giving me unlimited ammo means I can have fun just fighting the monsters at my own pace and following along with the story. That's dramatically more fun to me. When people online say I'm doing it wrong for not playing the 'intended' way feels like that one kid you know growing up who gets REALLY UPSET if you stray from the script playing with dolls or something and your doing it wrong. Fun is different for different people.
