What NOT To Buy

  • Shipping Error - Useless, as you will be avoiding pill spawns.
  • Black Powder - This may seem like an odd choice, but after the final boss, high KB can cause enemies to fly off the board and become impossible to find.
  • Bad at Counting - Part of the game plan is to maximize scoring, so you'll want to avoid this one.
  • Stock Crash - Why on earth would you ever take this anyway?
  • Hopeless Romantic - Useless for this strategy.
  • Spinach/Coping Methods - Not worth buying unless you just need to pad out your HP for a round or two, as max HP isn't useful in this build, only current HP.
  • Full Penetration - Just buy Bullet Hats.
  • Dihydrogen Monoxide - You WANT to be on fire. If the Burrito Night burning starts to bother you, just buy Alternative Medicine. Eventually, the meager healing it gives won't make a difference anyway, and enemy flames will be much more effective, but keep Burrito Night until you have a solid HP pool.
  • Food Stamps - We're trying to maximize shop chance, so this is just counterproductive.
  • Involuntary Teleportation - Without high speed, enough to reach Alternative Medicine before teleporting, this pill will ENTIRELY ruin the build, as it teleports you back to the beginning of the shop every time, making it impossible to grab the necessary pills and points. The potential risk of getting this pill is also a reason to avoid the random vertical black pills entirely, at all costs.

I don't really recommend any of the other points gaining pills, with the exception of Rock, No Feet, and Sad Feet if your speed and jumps get out of control, see what you can put up with for yourself I suppose. While Triple or Nothing is the absolute best way to rack up points, the speed and jumps absolutely get out of hand.

The very first thing you will want is Heart Fat, then Raw Fish. It may sound counterintuitive, but we're aiming to minimize our HP in exchange for points. Skip Spinach, as it costs points.

Next, grab Burrito Night and Consistent, then head straight for Spicy Toes. As long as you're above 50 HP (which you probably won't be at the moment), you'll continually heal damage. Consistent may sound scary, but it will actually benefit you immensely once the set up is complete.

Heartless next. Yes, I know, removing heart healing is scary, but just trust me on this one. You won't need it pretty soon.

The last HP minimizing pill we'll be grabbing is Hardcore. You should be sitting at a whopping 17 max HP at the moment, but you should also be sitting at a whopping 25,699,999+ (this is the bare minimum with the Shop cheat activated, you WILL have higher than this in a vanilla run).

The last critical point gain pill is Unlucky. Contrary to what it tells you, buying this will get you VERY far. You won't be relying on random floor pills any longer, you'll be buying all your pills from the reputable dealers from now on.

On this note, with all this cash you've racked up, the first thing you'll want to buy is Merchant, of course. You'll be wanting to maximize your chances of coming back to the shop after each area.

Grab Efficient. Maximize your points so you can spend even bigger later. Like Merchant, this is one you'll want to buy any chance you get. Eventually, you'll even be able to combo the friendlies in the shop (though frankly how dare you).

Last, and most critical to this build: Broken Ceiling. When it says "more like broken upgrade", they really mean it. With this, your HP will slowly (or potentially very quickly) become untouchable, and thanks to Consistent, it won't reset between levels!

From here, the only thing left to do is grab any sort of health regen you can. Chernobyl Survivor and Bloodlust are fairly reliable, and will pad out your HP just enough to survive the next round. If you have a weapon that runs out of ammo quickly, you can also grab Muzzle Warmth, it's cheap. Starfish is effective, but unpredictable and costly. You should have enough money to grab all of them, but remember to keep an eye on your points in case you want to grab anything else.

You should at least have enough points left for Sticky Fingers, or even Blackout. Grab that, unless you have an ideal gun loadout already in the case of Blackout. If you're lucky, you'll get a med gun, at which point you'll be nearly untouchable. Heal yourself up and nothing will be able to scratch the massive HP pool you can build up during and between levels. Soul Muncher also works, but isn't nearly as effective, and requires a target to hit.

With whatever points you have left, look to the next section for ideas of what to buy, or grab what you can that isn't in the What NOT To Buy section of this guide.

Thanks to Merchant, you should encounter the shop again soon-ish. From here, things get simpler, as a lot of the stuff you'll grab this time is the same stuff from last time:

    Same as last time:
  • Heart Fat, Raw Fish, Hardcore (all optional) - While Hardcore will be valuable long after the other ones, all three will eventually be spare change compared to what you're raking in, but especially Heart Fat and Raw Fish. Still, chances are at least the second time around, the petty cash will come in handy.
  • Emotional Capitalist, Heartless - Hearts are useless to you now, and there's no way to change that without risking all the upgrades we've set up, so reducing heart value matters not at all. Heartless doesn't stack, so it's free money now. 10M and change every couple rounds is well worth the loss in healing, and if all goes well, you'll at some point have better sources of healing anyway.
  • Burrito Night, Consistent - Like the Heartless effect, these don't really go away on their own, and they don't stack with themselves. At this point, you lose nothing taking them. Burrito Night is the only one that can even go away, and even then it's beneficial to you to have it.
  • Unlucky - We're not relying on luck, we're relying on the shop. Take it like last time.
  • Merchant, Efficient - Keep maximizing these. Merchant caps at 50% so keep an eye on it with [Tab].

    New purchases:
  • Triple or Nothing - You might be tempted to buy this immediately, but wait until you have 7 stars or so. Grab up all the points you feel safe with in the shop, and when you get to 7, buy it. Remember that the more points you have left over after you buy it, the more you'll have when you pick it up, as it triples what remains of your score. If you buy it with 5 stars in your pocket, you'll end up with none. 6 stars, you'll have 3. 7 stars, you'll have 6. 10 to 15, 30 to 75, etc.
  • Thick Skin - if you weren't able to buy it last time, now's a good time. Most likely, you won't have encountered lava or spikes a lot yet, and probably not many lasers that aren't from enemies. Now you won't have to worry about them at all.
  • Mr. Swimmington - Completely busted with Broken Ceiling. If you were ever worried about dying, now you won't be.
  • Pointy Bullets, Bullet Hats, High Calibur - Hold off on Pointy Bullets and High Calibur a bit until you have a solid score, because they're a bit expensive for what they do. Bullet Hats, even with piercing already, is still much more price efficient, but if you have the extra cash buy all three.
  • Nuclear Engineering, Explodey, Rocket Surgery - Self explode is a valuable tool, don't forget to use it!
  • Fat Mags, Stockpile - Magazine increases are very effective! Being able to repeatedly fire off the most powerful late-game guns (*cough* Debug Gun *cough*) is invaluable.
  • Basically any sort of DPS and magazine upgrades. Fire rate, fire bullets, magazine, cooldown, damage.

Try to get the Debug Gun from either Blackout, Switcheroo, or Sticky Fingers once you have a sufficient HP pool to risk losing the Med Gun.. It's by FAR the most powerful gun in the game, and one of the most reliable weapons post-game that won't break your run by sending an enemy off into the void. Avoid using the Oozi or the Devourer, their KB is way too high. There's probably others to avoid as well, but frankly unless you got really good luck in your runs, not much other than the Debug will have the DPS for loop anyway, and your best crowd control will most likely be your self explode. If possible, max it out too.

Admittedly, I'm no expert on maxing out your DPS. This guide's primary purpose is to use and abuse the shop and get you safely to loop. Follow the instructions, stay on your guard at your weakest moments, and you will absolutely rake in points and max out your level in no time!

Thank you, Steam user Wizard Of Hoes, I forgot to bring that up!

Napalm flamethrower is a good alternative to med gun if you have spicy toe and not the med gun.

Also yeah, thing about max HP after you buy Broken Celling, they apply to current HP too (Not the Spinach, that stops working outright and just damages you now), so they're still viable to inclrease le HP

Additionally, if you have rolled Glass Hammer from any gun givers (Blackout, Switcheroo, Sticky Fingers), you can go ham at buying worst possible pills and then using hammer to get to Reset pill, resetting whole tab menu but keeping le cash
Or you can take Triple or Nothing right away, so yeah, Glass Hammer is kinda OP (But rare as fuck)

I will put my 2 cents, and say that Food Stamps is worth buying as it doesn't work. It never lowers Shop chance (At least, I have never noticed it neither in Tab menu, nor on practice), so it's esseinally free 5m points

who needs to max out dps when you keep getting triple or nothing in the shop? that thing's basically a godmode in a pill

I recommend taking EVERY single negative the first time you get to shop and than getting system crash, while this has a chance of ruining a run, it can also make a massively successful run by giving you 40 million at start. Also triple or nothing, unlike EVERY single other positive pill does not take your money, it just requires enough money which is odd.
