What you need

The most important part of this process is making sure that you have all the tools and addons required for everything to work.

Once you have everything installed, spawn in a model that you wish to edit and any object to 'hold' materials. On smaller models, like the raptor, the object is optional. This is because the model was small enough to hold the material on one file.

As seen here.
Where to find and how to apply the skins

The addon works a little differently than others on the workshop. You aren't looking for a model under the normal addons list. Rather, you are looking for the materials to apply onto a model.

If you have a large list of installed addons, it might take you a little while to find.

Once you have located the skins, you can start the process of applying them onto models. With smaller models, like the raptor, you are able to simply click on the material with your submaterial tool out and apply onto the model with no extra steps. Larger models have a few more steps however.

With larger models, that have two or more parts to their skin, I would recommend spawning in any prop/object/model in order to 'hold' on to one of the materials. This also makes it easier to correct the mistake of copying a material off of the model instead of applying one.

Once your prop/object/model is holding one part of the material, 'refresh' the submaterial tool by selecting it in your menu again. This will allow you to see the list of materials the model/object currently has applied to it. Once this is done, copy the material from your prop/object/model by right mouse click.

Hover over your model and scroll through the list of options using your mouse wheel. Apply the material into their correct regions. If you're unsure of which region is which, you can apply the material and see what changes on the model.

Repeat the steps above (including refreshing the submaterial tool) until your model has a completed skin.

Your end result should look like this.
That's about it
Hopefully this guide gave you at least a better understanding of how this addon works. It might take a few tries before it clicks, but don't be scared to mess around and make some mistakes.

Also, here is the picture on the 'cover' of the guide. Just in case someone wanted a better look at it.

Skin meshes only work when both the model and skin are from the exact same game/source. The best you can do is recolouring the model itself with the colour change tool, but it will never look the same.

Had to jump onto Gmod myself to double check. It seems that either I have made a typo or the mod has updated and changed its keybindings. Right click is now the default key to copy the material. I will go ahead and update the guide so mistakes like this are avoided in the future.

Are you re-selecting the submaterial tool when trying to apply it? For whatever reason you must do this in order to see the list of currently applied materials. Without the list to apply materials into their correct spots it will set the material to its default region, which varies from model to model.
