The mountain graphics might spill over somewhat into neighboring tiles. This is necessary for preventing the tiles from looking like, well, like tiles.
With practice though, you can learn to tell what is a real mountain and what is just next to one.

Do you mean the snowy mountains in extreme deserts issue? It kept showing up in various different mods, so I ended up saying fuck it and fixing it on my end, even though I had been reluctant to originally(to avoid increasing the filesize of the mod too much).
