Uranium on Asteroids Near Planets and Moons
8 items
Description
Is the process of finding uranium on nearby asteroids getting you down? Not to worry, mate!

It's simple, really. This 2-block build contains a small cargo container topped with an LCD panel that lists the GPS locations for 128 asteroids with uranium near the Earthlike planet. If you spawn this blueprint in using Creative Mode, you'll find 10 datapads in the cargo container, 9 with a listing of 14 GPS locations and 1 with a listing of 2 GPS locations; 128 total. If you build this blueprint from a projector, simply build the LCD panel to get the listing. Then copy each 14-line group of GPS coordinates from the LCD panel into a datapad (one group at a time, or using 10 datapads).

From the active datapad, simply highlight all 14 entries and click on "Create GPS Marker". You'll need to go into your GPS listing and double-click them one at a time to make them active. That's it.

Note: This list only applicable to the vanilla Star System, not spawned-in planets since that will change the location of asteroids that spawn. Furthermore, this list is intended to be reasonably comprehensive, but it's certainly not complete. I'm sure there are additional asteroids with uranium that I didn't find, and certainly more the farther out you travel. In general, I limited my searching to under 60 kilometers from the planet's surface.

I am the asteroid whisperer.

Wow that is more impressive work, Thank you!

Updated the number of asteroids from 70 to 128 for much better coverage of the sky from any location.

I'm going to look at this ore mapping again. I think I missed a wide section and the total number of asteroids found was almost half of what I found for Mars and the Alien planet. I'll update this blueprint accordingly.

Yeah, a bit tedious, but worth it. Thanks.

I salute you as well, and for the others you have done. I for one really appreciate the time this must have taken.

Does anyone else want me to publish uranium locations for other moons and planets?
Spaceman Spiff  [author] 14 Dec, 2020 @ 11:46am
Obviously, it's not for everyone. But many have had struggles finding uranium in places, so I figured, "Why not!?!", and did it. I'll probably eventually publish the same for all the other planets. It's of a spare time sort of thing since the process of finding uranium-laden asteroids is just a bit tedious.
