Treaty 20 Minutes Guide!
By Andi
Since Treaty 20 became an option to play in Ranked, i thought it would be interesting to take a deep look into it. It s also a really fun Game mode, so consider trying it! :)
20 min is a pretty interesting time, because that is usually the time when you switch to mills/estates and get walls etc up. You wont have ressources for all upgrades, for all mills/estates and for a fully upgraded army. Which means you need to optimise your build and make Decisions!

Milestones in a Treaty 20 Game
  • Age 5
  • Have 99 Vills
  • have an army of 200 pop, one of those units being imp (ideally)
  • Have the most important unit and economic upgrades
  • have buildings (walls, barracks, stables)

How you achieve that: Doesnt matter!
Usually you'll need as many hunts and gold mines as you can get.
For most civs you'll use 3 villagers into 700 gold into 3 tc boom. Detailed explanation in the next chapters!

Most obvious and strongest picks: Brits and porto
Those two are deeply discussed in this Guide!
Portoguese Build Order
Gather all Starting ress.
Get a house and a market
Get 50 gold and 50 wood for hunting dogs.
After that switch all vills to hunts and send all new to food.
At 14 vills: Ageup with 400 wood

During Ageup: Send 4 to gold.
Age 2:
Send 700 gold
Gather the 400 wood --> Get steel traps and the gold upgrade
Gather the 700 gold and age up to age 3 (fast ageup)
Send all new vills to hunts. herd outwards hunts to your base.
Get the second coin market upgrade.

Age 3:
You want to have 3 on wood (for houses), 6 on gold and the rest on food.
(after you have more than 25 vills on food, send some new ones to gold)
Continue to produce vills and go to Age 4 when you have enough ress (1000 gold).

Age 4:
Send Factories.
Have around 30 on food and a little less on gold, so you can quickly advance to age 5 (2 canons).
When you clicked up, send new vills to wood (dont forget market upgrades).
You should hit imp at around 15 - 16 mins.
Get Capitol and get the economic upgrades.
Transition into mills and get upgrades. Try to get as many coin mines as possible

At around 16 mins:
Switch factories to heavy canons and get out 2 (so you have 4 in total for your first push). After the two spawned, switch facts to gold.
Prepare walls, church and arsenal (get relevant upgrades for dragoons)
Get 3 stables, start producing Goons after your mass cavalry (church upgrade) finished.
Get around 30 Dragoons and get them to at least guard (jinete). Ideally you have them imperial.
For your last card you can send 2 more heavy canons, so you have a strong first push.
After treaty ends:
move forward with your army and get map control / finish the enemy.
Continue to get your transition to mill / estate eco and add units as you see fit (usually cassadores, organ guns, mortars).

Note: you can also try to use different units, that was just something i felt was good (for example use musk + heavy canons or go for cass / goon / mortar)

Things to keep in mind:
  • Take better fights
  • Take map Control (including Trade roude/ natives)
  • Build forward bases and walls

Summary:
  • Get as soon as possible to your maximum eco (age 5 and 99 vills)
  • Do a strong initial Push (musk + Canons or Dragoons and canons)
  • Get Map Control after treaty ends (Walls, Bases, Trading Posts)
  • Take good fights!
