Welcome to one of my old rpg maker tuts that i made a while ago and are jsut now posting. But it all should still work.
How To Make It
Here is the video.
Tips
Here are some kinda helpfull tips that you can use.
  • Make a Place holder npc in a blank map that you can easyly make a basic hello, hi, etc talking actor and jsut copy and paste it and chnage text to save time.
  • Use it with other events like choices so players could talk to npc and random thing at random times and elarna bout lore or something of the sort and it would make it a bit different every time some one plays.
  • Incorporate it with quest scrpits like Quest Journal.[rmrk.net] You will get side quest that you could miss in game or fond in a next play though iif you miss it first time and it also add replay value to your game.

Pretty good tutorial for a basic use of variables. Definitely helpful to beginners.

I've tried doing this,but I can't seem to select a graphic from the events page,why is that?

I don't think a visual guide is necessary for this simple and basic trick. Would be nice if there is a written guide.

You should do a remake in 1080p, because its a really useful tutorial. Its just difficult to look between the two having to squint or lean in lol.

You can still read it. But i made video way back when while i used a crappy recorder.

This should really be in a higher resolution than 360p
