I mean no disrespect. Game trainers is what hackers called them(not mods or cheats companies put in) were notorious back in 1990s and up to now for spreading illegal hacks to people on websites who go out of their way to announce their product to provide cheats when the company did not allow it meaning they didn't create it for their games. Game shark is an example how they modified the code. Trainers are pre-made by hackers made for others to use by downloading the files to install them. I've experience many times where these dangerous programs will bring games down from access breach and get hold of data from players. They disguise themselves as cheats for games.

I guess there might be programs that has the name in it that has nothing to do with the illegal part that made a bad name to it. It happen so often I mistake it for it. Sorry about that.

So if I want to install a mod, do I have to ask the game developer or company for permission or does the modder need a license to create mods? I understand your point, but this only modifies the game's values such as life points or experience, if you don't want to use it, that's fine, but neither are the video game companies going to sue the modders.
