It can be boring while waiting for matchmaking to queue you up with other players. Some people scroll through their phones but there is a more productive activity, refining your skills while queuing.

First you will want to enable console in your game settings then press ` or ~ (the key under ESC) to open the window then you can launch a map like so.




Once a match has been found the accept button will actually show up, unlike while watching demos and your friends get angry at you for not accepting.
